(Video) Celtic fan goes viral for this bit of savagery aimed at Kris Boyd last night

There was no shortage of goals at Celtic Park yesterday as the home team absolutely thrashed Kilmarnock 5-1 to move into pole position in the Scottish Premiership.

Steve Clarke’s side came into the match as league leaders but were easily swept aside by an absolutely brilliant performance from the Hoops.

Ryan Christie, Mikael Lustig and Odsonne Edouard each scored a goal a piece between two well taken goals from James Forrest to send the home crowd into a frenzy.

The noise levels at Celtic Park was through the roof yesterday as the home supporters finally got to see their team back at the summit after a rather troublesome start to their season.

There was even a notion of potential disharmony within the squad doing the rounds in the early stages of the campaign as Brendan Rodgers’ men struggled to find their feet in the league.

Kilmarnock striker Kris Boyd was especially vocal with his opinion about the situation at Celtic after his side faced the champions earlier in September.

In one of his interviews, the ex-Rangers player talked about how he felt as if there was a big divide in the dressing room at Celtic Park and even raised questions about the commitment of several players to the club.

His comments were obviously not taken too well by the Hoops supporters at the time and so it was no surprise to see one fan take the striker for a ride when he got the opportunity during the rout yesterday.

The mood in the away team’s dugout already seemed quite dire after getting absolutely bullied when the Hoops fan decided to ridicule Boyd for his comments on Celtic in front of his colleagues and right to his face.

(Video) Dimitar Berbatov channeling his inner Spurs fan while talking about Arsenal’s Matteo Guendouzi

Former Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov jokingly admitted how watching Arsenal’s Matteo Guendouzi infuriated him while making an appearance for Goals on Sunday.

The Bulgarian international has been to most parts of the globe since leaving North London, enjoying a long and distinguished career at leading clubs like Manchester United, AS Monaco and Bayern Leverkusen but it seems he still holds Spurs close to his heart.

The 37-year-old couldn’t contain the Spurs fan in him while talking about Guendouzi during the show and went on to say about how it hurts to see him turn out so good at the Emirates.

The Gunners signed the relatively unknown 19-year-old from Ligue 1 outfit Lorient in July as one of Unai Emery’s five signings during the summer and the Frenchman has since emerged as one of the finds of the season.

Guendouzi has turned himself into a key player for the Spanish boss, featuring in 20 matches in all competitions as Arsenal have gone on a 21 game unbeaten run.

Berbatov insists that the Frenchman is ‘unbelievable’ and says he looks pretty comfortable in Arsenal’s first-team despite being just a teenager, lauding his box to box ability in particular.

But the striker admitted at one point of the show about how he does not enjoy seeing him play for Arsenal possibly because of his allegiance to Spurs although he does not mention it explicitly during the session.

Perhaps the most heartbreaking photo doing the rounds among Liverpool fans currently

Liverpool once again showcased their fighting spirit by coming back from a goal down to earn their 12th win of the season against Burnley to send a clear indication of their title credentials to their rivals.

The 3-1 win on Wednesday was one for the record books with Jurgen Klopp’s men having now equaled the club’s best start to a top flight season after 15 games and also saw the Reds move closer to Manchester City at the top of the league.

While these are pretty significant milestones for their season, the victory at Turf Moor came at a pretty deep cost for the team as young star Joe Gomez met with an unfortunate injury that could keep him out of action for a pretty long period of time.

The 21-year-old was pretty unlucky to have felt the full effect of a robust tackle from Ben Mee and the alarm bells were ringing all around the Liverpool dugout as soon as he hit the ground.

After not being able to get himself back on his feet, the right-back had to be stretchered off within half an hour of kick-off , forcing Klopp to turn to Trent Alexander-Arnold quicker than he would have liked.

Initial assessments from the Reds’ camp at Melwood indicate that Gomez could be out for as long as six weeks after sustaining a fracture to his lower left leg from the blow.

The news will be a bitter blow to Liverpool’s title hopes as they try to catch up to Man City with the busy period of the season approaching.

While the news had already devastated the Liverpool support around the globe, they were in for more distress as an absolutely heartbreaking photo of the youngster walking around in crutches emerged on Twitter.

The sight of one of their most beloved young stars looking so frail would have been definitely tough for the Liverpool fans to take in but they were quick to wish him a speedy recovery and will be hopeful of seeing him back in red as soon as possible.

Heartbreaking stuff. Check out the photo here :

(Video) Cracking moment as Eric Bailly pumped up Man Utd fans after beating Aubameyang in a sprint

Manchester United reminded their fans that they aren’t done with their season just yet with a much improved performance against bitter rivals Arsenal.

Although United have been struggling to get points on the board this season, they have been increasingly living up to their reputation as comeback kings and once again came back from behind to get themselves back in the game on Thursday.

Despite starting the game as the better of the two sides, Jose’s men found themselves a goal down after De Gea mishandled a diving header from Mustafi in the first half but got themselves right back in the game a few moments later through in-form Anthony Martial.

The same pattern repeated after the break as well as Lacazette’s deflected shot went in during an Arsenal counter but once again United responded immediately through Jesse Lingard.

The game saw several non regulars start with the likes of Dalot, Rojo and Bailly all given a run in the team after a long period of absence as Jose tried to ramp up the intensity from his team.

The Old Trafford crowd seemed to love the effort from their players and the noise levels inside the stadium were increasing continuously as the match went on.

Even after struggling with his frequent run-ins with injuries, Eric Bailly seems to have not lost his edge and during one instance was absolutely toe-to-toe with Arsenal’s speed demon Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gabon international has a reputation of being one of the fastest players in the world but Bailly seemed least interested, tracking back and stopping the attacker in his tracks to prevent an Arsenal counter.

The Ivory Coast international didn’t stop there and went on to try to pump up the an already excited home crowd even more by gesturing towards them to make some more noise after wining the intense duel.

Certainly knows how to work a crowd! Check out Bailly’s reaction after stopping Aubameyang here :

(Video) Virgil van Dijk setting the standards with an elite cross-field pass during Liverpool’s win v Burnley

Liverpool came back from behind to register a 3-1 win over Burnley yesterday to stay hot on City’s heels at the top of the league and equal their best return from the first 15 games in a top-flight season.

Following their 96th minute winner against Everton in the Merseyside derby last week, the latest victory over Sean Dyche’s men extends their unbeaten run in the league and marks their 12th win of the campaign.

It briefly looked like the Clarets might climb out of the bottom 3 though when they took the lead in the 54th minute but that wasn’t to be as James Milner equalised shortly after with a well struck low shot before Robert Firmino came off the bench to take the Reds into the lead with literally his first touch of the game.

The Brazilian was found with an inch perfect pass by none other than Virgil van Dijk, who reminded fans once again that he is just as imperious in attack as he is in defence with another solid display over the 90 minutes.

While the Dutchman wasn’t exactly flawless in defence against the Clarets, he had a field day on the other side of the pitch and was regularly finding his teammates with pin-point accuracy.

Much was said about his price tag after his move from Southampton but it’s safe to say Van Dijk has silenced his critics with his performances and has turned himself into one of the most crucial cog’s in this record breaking Liverpool side.

Apart from his brilliant acrobatic assist to Firmino, the center-back was also singled out for praise by fans for an absolutely wonderful cross-field pass to find Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Setting the standards for defenders everywhere, check out the pass below –

(Video) This reaction from Ander Herrera showed he gets what Man United are all about

Arsenal and Manchester United battled it for a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford to provide plenty of entertainment to the paying customers yesterday.

While recent encounters between the two historical clubs have been lackluster, yesterday’s game was a throwback to the classic Arsenal vs United matches of the past.

Unai Emery’s men came in to the match on a high after their North London derby win but struggled at times to fend off a revitalized United side.

Jose Mourinho had complained about his side lacking a certain bite after their draw with Southampton and perhaps the manager’s words had an influence on his players as they put in an intense and gritty shift against the Gunners with 3 United players getting booked in the first 45 minutes itself.

United seemed to have gotten their aura back at Old Trafford as they refused to give up and responded immediately after going behind not once but twice with Jesse Lingard’s goal coming just 70 seconds after Lacazette’s shot went in off Rojo’s studs.

Ander Herrera was almost a physical embodiment of the intensity shown by United as the Spaniard put in a tireless shift to thwart Arsenal’s attackers and it was his pass that found it’s way to Anthony Martial for United’s first equalizer of the night.

The midfielder was obviously elated with his side getting back on level terms with their rivals and United fans on Twitter loved his passionate reaction after the Frenchman turned in his pass.

He gets it! Check out Herrera’s pumped up reaction here:

Ballon d’Or host asks winner Ada Hegerberg if she wants to twerk

2018’s Ballon d’Or ceremony was certainly not short on surprises.

The final announcement during the mega event left certain sections of the footballing world shocked as Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric was awarded the coveted title of being the best player in Europe.

The awards caps a wonderful year for the midfielder, who was also voted as the top male player at the FIFA Football awards and received the Golden Ball award for being the best player at the World Cup in July.

While the Croatian had a stellar 2018, leading his club to the World Cup finals in Russia and guiding Real to another Champions League triumph, there were still some doubts amongst many fans as to whether the playmaker was at the high standards set by previous holders Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

The pair have won the title a total of 10 times amongst them ( equally shared at 5 a piece ) and have absolutely dominated the event for more than a decade, almost turning it into a private battle between the two of them since Kaka last won the gong in 2007.

Cristiano came in second spot this time around while Messi dropped down to fifth spot.

French teen sensation Kylian Mbappe was voted the third best player in Europe and was also named the winner of the Kopa trophy for young player of the year yesterday for his exploits with France and PSG.

But while Luka lifting the coveted bong raised a few eyebrows here and there, it was still some way short of being the biggest controversy of the night.

That distinction goes to French DJ Martin Solveig, who has sparked the ire of people around the globe for his utterly disgraceful comments to Ada Hegerberg as he was hosting the show.

Hegerberg made history as the first winner of the women’s Ballon d’Or after powering Lyon to three Champions League trophies in-a-row and had a top 2018 with 42 club goals in 25 games last season.

But the Norwegian’s moment in the spotlight was absolutely ruined by Solveig when he asked the 23-year-old if she could perform a ‘twerk’ on stage.

Hegerberg looked obviously disturbed at the comment and abruptly walked off the stage a few moments later and even the crowd present at Paris made their discontent clear as soon as the question was asked by the Frenchman.

Although Solveig quickly apologized for his behavior later and said his question is being taken out of context as he was simply asking her to dance on the Sinatra song that was playing, it still is no excuse for his behavior on a night that was of such historical importance to female football.

The Frenchman has been subject to a whole lot of criticism on social media following the incident and his antics have been described as “disgusting” by several fans on Twitter.

Check out a clip of the incident here :

Lucas Torreira fighting Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen (Video)

While Unai Emery has managed to steady the ship at Arsenal after a rather slow start to his career in North London, he faced one of the biggest tests for an Arsenal manager yesterday – playing against bitter rivals Tottenham at the Emirates and boy he didn’t disappoint.

Even though it was his first taste of the North London derby, the Spaniard seemed well prepared and looked like a man possessed, pacing up and down his technical area throughout the game.

His enthusiasm surely rubbed off on his team as well with the Gunners running away 4-2 winners at the end of what was a thoroughly entertaining game of football.

But a good game of football is definitely not the only aspect expected from the NLD over the years with the fixture renowned for getting feisty with plenty of drama on the pitch and there wasn’t any shortage of such incidents during the latest edition edition as well.

Things got ugly pretty quick after Spurs players were a bit vocal during their celebrations after scoring the equalizer in the first half leading to full fledged shoving contest between several Arsenal substitutes and Tottenham’s players near the touchlines.

The situation looked pretty reckless until Mauricio Pochettino stepped in to cool things down, literally dragging away the likes of Dele Alli and Eric Dier from the scene.

The Gunners stepped on the pedal following the break and regained their lead through Lacazette in the 74th minute before new man Lucas Torreira wrapped up the win three minutes later.

While Lacazette and Aubameyang put Spurs on the rope with their clinical finishing, it was Torreira who really stole the show.

The Uruguayan put in one of his best performances in an Arsenal shirt and stamped his authority on the fixture with his closing down right from start to finish.

Piers Morgan ‘warrior’ tweet about Lucas Torreira

The 22-year-old couldn’t have possibly picked a better fixture to start his goal scoring account at the club as well and Piers Morgan was absolutely spot on with his tweet labeling the 22-year-old as a “Warrior” because that’s exactly the sort of Torreira fans got to see yesterday evening.

The Uruguayan brought the kind of tenacity not seen from an Arsenal midfielder since Patrick Vieira hung up his shoes and looked very much like a diminutive version of the legendary Frenchman with his unbelievable work rate and sheer passion to win the ball back for his team.

One incident that has been especially talked about on social media is when Torreira refused to give the ball up despite being cornered by both Alli and Eriksen during a Spurs attack.

Even after hitting the ground, the former man refused to stop fighting and his perseverance ultimately paid off as he brilliantly came away with the ball for his team as his opponents looked on.

(Video) Everton fans can’t believe the bias from Sky Sports after this bit of commentary during Arsenal v Bournemouth

Everton maintained their steady start to the season with a deserved 1-0 win over Cardiff City on Sunday to move to 6th spot in the league.

But even with their club performing so well in the top flight, supporters seemed shocked to hear this bit of commentary during Sky Sports’ presentation of Arsenal’s win over Bournemouth.

Toffees have long suspected about a possible media bias against their team and their suspicions seem well justified after hearing this bit of commentary where the presenter blatantly refuses to acknowledge Everton as a so called ‘big’ club while talking about the league standings.

Check out the clip here :

Blues supporters have responded to the clip on Twitter and have posted other instance of bias towards the Merseysiders from the past in the comment section as well proving that incidents like these aren’t just a one off.

(Image) This Liverpool lineup including Shaqiri would be needed to get all 3 points against 7th-placed Watford

Liverpool will certainly have their work cut out for them this weekend as they travel to Vicarage Road looking to extend their unbeaten run in the league .

With Hornets boss Javi Garcia nicknamed the ‘Giant Killer‘ during his time at Malaga for his expertise on beating superior opposition, the Reds will have to be playing close to their best to grab all three points away from home.

While supporters seem pretty confident in their team’s ability, they are fully aware of the threat Watford poses and have named some pretty fierce looking squads in predicted line-ups seen on Twitter.

One particular line up looks especially impressive – featuring Shaqiri, Wijnaldum and Fabinho in the middle, the mix of steel and silk may very well be exactly what Klopp needs to come out of this stern test on the road.

Surely Shaqiri has to play! Check out the predicted XI here :
