(Video) Liverpool fans with a goosebumps-inducing rendition of the Firmino song after Brighton win

Liverpool were back to winning ways as they beat Brighton & Hove Albion with the help of a Mo Salah penalty to stretch their lead to 7 points at the top of the table.

After losing back-to-back games against Manchester City and Wolves, Liverpool put on a sturdy display to see out the victory on Saturday.

With injuries piling on at the back during the Christmas period, the extra responsibility has fallen on the shoulders of the forwards. The deadly attack hasn’t dazzled like last season but they look like they’ve gotten back their groove over the last month with Salah and Firmino both netting a hat-trick each.

The Brazilian sensation has been mostly deployed as a false 9 this season, playing behind Salah and he has stuck to his task well, earning the repeated admiration of the Kopites.

The hardworking Brazilian, loved for his trackbacks and recoveries, continues to grow into the hearts of Liverpool fans and the latest rendition of the Bobby Firmino song performed by the travelling fans was just another testament for the same.

The electric atmosphere was enough to give goosebumps to anyone watching as the fans continue to sing their way to hopefully their first league title in 29 years.

Having been eliminated from the domestic cups, Liverpool fans will be hoping to see more of Firmino’s excellent performances in the league and Champions League and to sing his song many more times in the coming few months.

(Video) This Victor Lindelof tackle on Harry Winks last night had a little bit of Vidic in it

Manchester United continued their resurgence after they beat Tottenham Hotspur last night at Wembley to go level on points with Arsenal. Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s appointment has boosted the squad and reinvigorated the fans.

A sixth consecutive win on the bounce for United came at the back of a man of the match display from David de Gea. A fine defensive display from Manchester United in addition to the keeper’s heroics helped them keep out an in form Spurs attack led by Harry Kane.

Manchester United look like a side reborn under the interim manager and a few players have shown drastic improvement over the last month.

Very few have given consistent performances since the beginning of the season and Victor Lindelof falls under that category for Red Devils.

The Swedish international had a tough time finding his feet in the Premier League initially but he did catch up eventually and has shown glimpses of quality at the back.

His style has often been compared to the legendary defender Nemanja Vidic. One of the moments where the Swede stopped a potential counter attack with a perfect slide tackle, was received with much admiration amongst the United fans who were quick to point out the uncanny resemblance with the Serbian.

The sumptuous tackle on Winks midway through the second half wasn’t the highlight of the game but surely was one of the likeable moments for the United faithful.

Manchester United now face Brighton before heading to Arsenal for an FA Cup showdown and the fans will expect the run of victories to continue for as long as it can.

(Image) Teammate gets engaged, Erik Lamela drops brutal comment on Instagram

It has been a good season for Tottenham Hotspur so far as they are the only team alongside Manchester City, who still compete for all 4 trophies up for grabs. Only 6 points off Liverpool in the league, Spurs have enjoyed one of their best starts ever so far.

Their good run of form comes despite a few injuries along the way and they have seen their share of young players breakthrough and take the responsibility. Juan Foyth made his league debut at the back of an injury crisis for Alderweireld & Vertonghen and stepped up to the task well. The 20-year-old Argentine scored the winner against Crystal Palace after being responsible for conceding penalties in his debut.

An already memorable season got even better for the Argentine as he proposed to his girlfriend on Wednesday. His Instagram post had best wishes showering from fans and his fellow teammates, and one comment particularly stood out.

Erik Lamela congratulated his fellow Argentinian by asking for an invite to the wedding in a rather hilarious manner and the comment was loved by the fans.

Foyth surely knows who tops the priority list for the wedding invites now. Check out Lamela’s comment below –

(Video) 16-year-old Ki-Jana Hoever’s fearless run during Liverpool v Wolves clash

It was yet another frustrating evening for Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool faced a second consecutive defeat in the space of 4 days.

Liverpool’s 2-1 defeat at Wolves meant that their run in the FA Cup ended as soon as it began and to add to their woes, they lost yet another centre-back to injury as Dejan Lovren pulled his hamstring within the first 10 minutes of kick off.

Klopp fielded a weaker side, resting his big guns and saw his team fall further behind due to the injury.

However, there was one very bright silver lining for Klopp as the game saw the debut of Ki-Jana Hoever, who at 16 years old, became the club’s youngest player ever to play in the FA Cup.

Bought in from Ajax’s academy, Hoever had a good outing against a full strength Wolves and had one of the moments of the game where he won back the ball in his own box to set up a counter attack.

After being nearly beaten by Helder Costa, Hoever recovered to win back the possession and went on a run to beat 2 men before sliding the ball through to Shaqiri and set up a counter attack.

(Photo) The Adidas concept kits doing the rounds among Everton fans currently

As the football season approaches the busy period where the teams prepare to compete in multiple competitions at once, it is also the season for artists to showcase their skills and creativity with concept kits for the next season.

The latest addition to some impressive concept kits being shared online are these Adidas concept kits for Everton.

As opposed to the current Umbro kit which is mostly all blue (except the collar), the concept home kit features white stripes on the arms, a common feature amongst Adidas kits.

The away kit looks fresh as well with the inverse of the blue and white of the home kit.

The designs are receiving positive reviews from the Everton faithful online. Via @_luke_efc_2, check out the images below –

How the pubs in Newcastle are joining the protest against Mike Ashley

Newcastle United supporters continue their protests against their owner Mike Ashley as he fails to provide Rafa Benitez with any sort of financial backing.

The British entrepreneur has been urged repeatedly by the Newcastle faithful to either sell the club or provide funds to Benitez, who has managed to do well given the lack of funds.

The former Liverpool manager took up the Newcastle job when they were set for relegation in 2015-16 and has stuck through to see them win their promotion right back after the drop. However, the money being spent in the league by the bottom clubs makes it a job harder than what the Spaniard would’ve hoped.

The Magpies have upped their efforts to bring a change at the very top. Even the pubs in Newcastle have joined in the protests to see their owner out, as can be seen with this poster of Ashley in a urinal.

After having been duped by the owner once already, who came out and confessed he was very close to selling the club, the fans would hope he does make a decision soon and the club doesn’t end up facing heavy consequences.

Chelsea fans believe Eden Hazard has had enough of Marcos Alonso after this incident last night

Chelsea suffered a disappointing defeat at the hands of Spurs in the first leg of the semi finals of Carabao Cup.

An evenly contested game at Wembley was decided by a controversial VAR decision that awarded Spurs with a penalty, overturning an offside decision.

Chelsea have seen their form dwindle over the last few weeks and risk losing a few names. Hazard, who has been linked with a move away to Real Madrid, was the pick of the players for Chelsea yesterday.

Constantly running at defenders and trying to create chances, Hazard did not receive sufficient support from players around him as Willian, Barkley and Alonso had a poor outing.

His dissatisfaction could be seen in the video where Alonso refused to pass the ball to the Belgian when he was open, only to take extra few touches and pass it to him when he was quickly closed down by two Spurs players.

His visible frustration was reciprocated by fans, who have been disappointed by a few selections lately. Check out the incident below –

Willian and Marcos Alonso haven’t shown much promise lately and repeated chances to the former sees the club at the risk of losing a bright young talent in Hudson-Odoi. The fans would hope Sarri is quick to realise the tweaks required in his team so the fan favourites stick around for longer and help the team win more titles.

The Blues’ fixture congestion continues, with Saturday’s FA Cup third-round tie against Nottingham Forest followed by next Tuesday’s Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg clash with Tottenham at Wembley.

It does not need to be said perhaps but Chelsea’s task has been made more challenging by mounting injuries.

(Photo) Liverpool star Roberto Firmino goes viral for his bizarre choice of outfit

It has been known for a while that Brazilians have a different taste in fashion as compared to the rest of us.

Be it Ronaldo’s infamous haircut during the World Cup or Dani Alves’ repeated fashion blunders, they never let an opportunity to turn some heads go.

The latest to see his name taken for a fashion disaster was Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino, who couldn’t replicate his scintillating form on the pitch with his outfits.

The Brazilian sensation was spotted wearing a bizarre look after Liverpool saw their unbeaten streak end after a loss away to Manchester City.

Check out the photo below –

Firmino, who has scored 4 in his last 2, will look to carry on his goal-scoring run and get back to winning ways with Liverpool as they take on Wolves in the FA Cup.

(Image) Tottenham fan finds Arsenal tag on the boot bag he received from the online store

A little Spurs fan was left disgruntled and disappointed as he found out his Christmas gift had something he never would’ve wanted on one of his accessories.

The shoe bag, his father bought from the Spurs official store, had an Arsenal tag on it, much to the displeasure of both him and his kid.

The father who took to Twitter to moan about this mistake made by the Spurs official store, has garnered plenty of attention but still looks like he awaits a response from the club.

The dislike between the two clubs & their fans is mutual and it wouldn’t come as a surprise if the young fan ends up wondering if Santa is a Gooner.

(Video) Kepa took out 5 Southampton players with one insane volleyed pass during Chelsea draw

Chelsea were held to a goalless draw during their midweek clash against Southampton. The Blues failed to capitalise and close down the gap on the top 3 as Arsenal and Man United look to challenge them for the top 4 spot.

A disappointing start to the new year for Chelsea did have moments of excitement for the fans. One of them being a scintillating volleyed pass by Kepa.

The most expensive keeper in the history of the game, displayed his composure and technique as he volleyed the ball through to Loftus-Cheek, splitting the Saints’ press, taking out 5 players at once.

The Chelsea goalkeeper has had a good start to his career at Stamford Bridge so far and has been a crucial part of Chelsea’s Sarriball.

The highly rated youngster enjoys a passing success rate of 86%, higher than Alisson and Ederson.

Having kept 10 cleansheets, some might admit his performances have gone a bit under the radar but he continues to remind us of his quality with passes like these.
