(Video) Ole Gunnar Solskjaer bizarrely hints at traffic playing a role in the loss against bottom-placed Watford

Manchester United’s season has been a classical case of two steps forward and one step back this year.

While Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was heralded as a tactical genius by all after overseeing double victories over Mourinho’s Tottenham and local rivals Manchester City at the start of the month, his United side somewhat stumbled against Everton before going outright missing during the 2-0 loss to Watford yesterday.

While pundits have been picking their brains out in studios trying to figure out where it went wrong for the home side at Old Trafford, Solskjaer came up with the most bizarre reason for United’s defeat to the team struggling at the bottom of the Premier League.

While United fans are no strangers to hearing strange excuses from their managers in the past after defeats (remember those times under Louis van Gaal and Mourinho United fans ?), they still should be shocked to hear the club legend bizarrely stating that the traffic had a role to play during his side’s defeat.

Check out the clip from Solskjaer’s bizzare post match presser after United’s 2-0 loss yesterday:

(Video) “Do we have drones?” – Mikel Arteta sets priority on his first day as Arsenal boss

After weeks of speculation, Arsenal have finally announced Mikel Arteta as the club’s new manager.

The former Arsenal player was one of the names mentioned in the running to take over from Arsene Wenger along with Unai Emery and was continuously linked with the hot seat even while the Spaniard was in charge.

After parting ways with Emery the club have finally got him to take over at the Emirates and the former Spanish international looks to be wasting no time as he goes about his business to restore the club to its former glory.

The former City coach will be looking at new ways to implement his own philosophy in the coming days and looks to have set high priority on a piece of technology which still isn’t considered to be the norm at many clubs around the world.

While only a handful of his peers in top flight management are using drones in training sessions currently, Arteta seems to be a fan of the technology and fans should be bracing themselves to see drones fly around Arsenal’s training ground soon judging by a conversation between the new boss and his coaching staff.

The moment was thoroughly enjoyed by Gooners after a clip of the conversation made its way to the internet and fans seemed especially pleased to see the meticulous nature of their new manager –

Raheem Sterling trolled for liking Marcus Rashford’s ‘Manchester is Red’ post

After United’s 2-1 victory over Manchester City earlier this month, fans will be treated to another edition of the Manchester derby in the Carabao Cup after the two sides from Manchester drew each other for the semi-finals of the competition.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer showed his tactical masterclass during the last derby when his United side absolutely ran rings around Pep’s Champions and oversaw the kind of dominant performance not seen from United sides at the Etihad since Sir Alex retired.

Much of the praise for United’s mini resurgence of late has been going to Marcus Rashford who has already notched up his personal best goal tally just halfway into this campaign.

And almost two weeks after United’s victory, the striker seems to be in no mood to give up United’s local bragging rights and posted a photo on Instagram with Mason Greenwood urging his side to keep Manchester red.

With his affiliation to the blue half of Manchester and also featuring in the derby for the Citizens personally, Raheem Sterling was perhaps the last person United fans would have been expecting to ‘like’ Rashford’s post but the England international did just that.

But the attacker would soon regret his decision with eagle eyed United fans quickly noticing his social media activity and with such an important City player liking a post which openly mocks their derby defeat, United fans were always going to rub it in the faces of their rival fans and are having a field day on Twitter.

“From Liverpool to City and now supporting United!”. Check out the reaction from United fans here:

(Video) Le Parisien journo takes Ernesto Valverde to the cleaners for starting Ivan Rakitic against Real Madrid

FC Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde has not been receiving too much love from those around the Camp Nou recently.

The Spanish tactician has been at the receiving end of fan fury for some time now and following Wednesday’s stalemate in the El Clasico, the calls to sack him have been growing louder and louder.

Barca fans have been at his case since the season began with many feeling that the club is stalling under his stewardship and in danger of facing another mediocre season if he is not replaced soon.

Fans seemed especially aghast at some of his tactical decisions for the all important match against Real and the Spaniard did himself no favors with another thoroughly unconvincing post match presser after the first goalless meeting between the sides since the early 2000s.

Mirroring the concerns of several fans, French journalist Julien Laurens also took a pop at the manager by pointing out how his decision to employ Ivan Rakitic at the center of the park was a disastrous one.

The Croatian midfielder has also seen his stock with Barca fans fall after a huge dip in form and supporters were absolutely livid to see him start the game instead of Sergio Busquets.

The journo from French newspaper ‘Le Parisien’ spoke with the passion of a true Barca supporter as he went about criticising Valverde’s decisions during a post match analysis after the El Classico and has gained the support of other supporters after a clip of his analysis made it to Reddit.

Check out a clip of Laurens’ passionate arguments here:

(Video) Sky Sports pundit resists the urge to compare Harvey Elliott with Lionel Messi after Liverpool youngster impresses against Aston Villa

After leaving for Qatar with his first team for the club World Cup, Jurgen Klopp was forced to dig into his reserves and named Liverpool‘s youngest ever starting XI for the Carabao Cup quarter final clash with Aston Villa.

While the German manager would be a bit disappointed with the 5-0 thrashing, he should still be taking away more positives than negatives from Villa Park.

In a game which put the greatest emphasis on giving young players an opportunity to make an impression it was befitting to see the youngest player on the pitch making the biggest impression for the Reds.

After making a name for himself as the youngest player to play in the Premier League, 16-year-old Harvey Elliott has been tipped for big things at Anfield and further strengthened his claims for regular game time with a classy display against the Villans.

The teenage wizard was a constant menace for the home side to deal with, showing great work rate off the ball and created 5 good chances for his teammates from the right wing.

The magnificent display from the youngster got the Sky Sports studio buzzing with pundits running out of words to describe his performance during their post match analysis.

Jamie Redknapp seemed to be especially impressed with Elliot’s talents and the struggle is evident on his face as he restrained himself from comparing his passing talent with that of Lionel Messi.

The moment comes around the 54 second mark in the video below –

Tottenham gained a whopping 21 percent increase in their YouTube followership after appointing Jose Mourinho as manager

While Tottenham Hotspur have been making significant strides on the pitch following Jose Mourinho’s appointment, it now seems that the club has been doing quite well off the pitch as well after the Special One arrived in North London.

According to a recent study by KPMG Football Benchmark, Spurs were found to have experienced the most drastic jump in social media presence over the last month including a massive 21 % increase in YouTube viewership.

The growth has been attributed to the performance boost the club has witnessed after Jose’s appointment, with the North Londoners regaining their foothold in the race for the Champions League spots after getting off to a disastrous start to the season under Pochettino.

But while the massive improvements in the performance of the side can be considered to be the main reason for the recent upsurge in the social media presence of the club, Jose’s impact on the same simply cannot be ignored.

Spurs fans will be hoping for more of the same from their club when Chelsea visit this weekend with the Blues currently occupying the last Champions League qualification spot and just 3 points above Tottenham in the league table.

One particular Wolves Youtuber seems to be especially upset by Harry Kane’s antics against her team and held no blows back in a scathing assessment of the England skipper’s attitude during her last video.

While Wolves fans were always bound to agree with her she even surprisingly managed to find support from a Spurs supporter who seemed to agree with some of the points she made during the video with a detailed comment on YouTube and even went on to state that Kane’s behaviour at times “does his head in “.

Arsenal fans sang their hearts out for the club as the final whistle went off against City

Interim manager Freddie Ljungberg urged the Arsenal board to make a decision regarding the club’s permanent manager without further delay after watching his side slump to a 3-0 defeat to Manchester City.

While the Gunners went into the game without much expectations, fans as well as the interim boss still seemed to be shocked by the poor performances put in by some of the senior players at the club.

The uncertainty surrounding the top position at the club isn’t surely helping the team on the field but nevertheless the attitude shown by some of their stars especially the likes of Mesut Ozil was surely difficult to watch for Arsenal fans.

After making a significant outlay in the summer transfer window, Gooners were surely expecting bigger things from their team this season but has instead witnessed their team slump into their worst start in recent memory.

Following such a poor performance at the Emirates no one could have blamed the home fans for jeering their own team but the Arsenal faithful in attendance yesterday instead displayed their exemplary faith in the club by rendering a powerful rendition of “we love you Arsenal, we do” towards the end of the game.

Fans will be hoping that the show of faith from their part will somehow help their team to put in better performances from now on as they look to overturn their dismal start to the season.

Photo – Roberto Firmino at his outrageous best before Liverpool’s first goal against Watford

While he hasn’t gotten off to the greatest of starts this season by his own lofty standards, Roberto Firmino reminded everyone of his outrageous talents with an absolutely crazy bit of skill during the 2-0 win over Watford on Saturday.

Firmino put in another resolute display for the club and played a crucial part in securing the 3 points which extended Liverpool’s lead at the top of the Premier League to 10 points.

While his workrate and dedication remains world class, the robust Brazilian hasn’t quite hit the heights of previous campaigns as far as numbers are concerned and has just 4 goals and 4 assists to his name so far.

Regardless of whether he finds the net or not, the 28-year-old is still considered an instrumental part of Jurgen Klopp’s plans for the club and was one of the few players who dazzled the home fans in an otherwise quiet first-half against the Hornets.

The Brazilian played a huge role in the build-up to Mo Salah’s opener by producing an absolutely jaw dropping no-look acrobatic pass to find Mane which left the Anfield crowd roaring for more.

Pure Brazilian flair!

(Video) Man Utd YouTuber trolls City fans by asking if ‘Pep Guardiola is a fraud’

Sitting in third position in the points table barely halfway through the campaign and securing progression into the knockout stages of the Champions League usually ensures a comfortable situation for any manager but not if you are at Manchester City and especially not if your name is Pep Guardiola.

The Spaniard is considered to be one of the biggest names in football management and his constant successes in Spain, Germany and most recently in England means that even the slightest slip-ups riles up a media storm.

Manchester United coming across town to the Etihad has been reduced to a one sided affair at times since Pep took over but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s young side absolutely dominated the champions last week and deserved to go home with all 3 points.

The 2-1 derby defeat to their local rivals has widened the gap with Liverpool to 14 points and many opposition fans are making most of the opportunity to troll the tactician for his recent shortcomings.

Manchester United fans have been especially vocal after their derby win and popular YouTube channel ‘ The United Stand ‘ took the trolling up a notch by asking fans if they felt ‘Guardiola was a fraud‘ while roaming the streets of Manchester.

While United fans enjoyed the question and came up with witty answers, City fans looked quite taken aback by the notion and some fans even moved away from the camera when presented with the question.

While the prediction came to fruition and the Conservative Party led by Boris Johnson came out victorious in the UK general elections, Taylor’s Twitter account was deactivated shortly after the tweet presumably due to fan backlash.

Christian Pulisic gets standing ovation from Chelsea fans after a delightful 62-minute performance against Lille

Chelsea booked their place in the knockout stages of the Champions League in dramatic fashion with a narrow 2-1 victory over Lille at the Stamford Bridge while last year’s semi-finalists Ajax crashed out of the competition.

Frank Lampard’s side went into the game knowing fully well that anything besides a win would see them knocked out of Europe’s elite competition and ultimately made the cut courtesy of goals from Tammy Abraham and Cesar Azpilicueta.

While he did not get himself on the scoresheet, Christian Pulisic continued on his good form for the Blues with another strong performance during a crunch game.

The American endured a difficult start to life in London but has turned things around recently and is now considered be one of the first names on Lampard’s teamsheet.

The youngster was a constant thorn in Lille’s side throughout the game and the home fans acknowledged his role in the win by giving the winger a standing ovation when he was substituted in the 62nd minute.
