Liverpool to Lure Eden Hazard from Lille using Joe Cole

Liverpool can use Joe Cole in their attempt to grab Eden Hazard from Lille.

As everyone knows Joe Cole is enjoying life at Lille, with the pace of French league suiting the Englishman. Even so that Joe Cole himself has said that he would like to make a permanent move to the French side. Now this could turn to very fruitful as clearly Cole is not wanted by the Anfield side. And if Joe Cole strike a permanent deal with Lille then Liverpool could use it to swap Eden Hazard from Lille.

Hazard a hot commodity in Football world is wanted by lot of big clubs in Europe with Real Madrid and Arsenal keeping an eye on the Belgian footballer.

Hazard is valued at in excess of 30 million pounds by the French side and Liverpool will be unwilling to dash out such money on a young talent. So there best bet is to use Joe Cole in the deal and lower the price down.

Mario Gotze, wanted by Arsene Wenger, is not for sale says Borussia Dortmund Director of Sport Michael Zorc and coach Jurgen Klopp.

Mario Gotze, who was substitute in the loss against Arsenal, is much wanted man as far is Arsene Wenger is concerned. The 19 year old forward player was stupendous for Dortmund last season and has been flawless this season as well. He was one of the star players as Borussia Dortmund lifted the Bundesliga last season.

But Dortmund are keen on holding their prized asset. Jurgen Klopp said that “Nobody buys a player from Borussia Dortmund just like that. Not even Arsenal.”

It is no surprise that Dortmund are not keen to sell as hot prospects like Gotze are one in many.

Gareth Bale – A Priority Target for Barcelona

Barcelona are at it again, this time it is Tottenham Hotspur’s prized winger Gareth Bale. According to reports Barcelona scouts were present at the between Spurs and Aston Villa at White Hart Lane. The Welshman has been on Barca’s radar for a while now. Gareth Bale did had a pretty good game against Aston Villa and Pep Guardiola’s scout must have given a good report of their future star.

Gareth Bale has been prospected by a lot of big clubs in Europe including Real Madrid and AC Milan. Bale himself admitted that he is quite flattered by all the big clubs wanting to sign him for their respective teams.

But it would be hard task for Barcelona to snatch Bale from Harry Redknapp. As seen from the Luka Modric case last transfer window. But if Barcelona do manage to make Redknapp sell the winger, it would be a big amount. Gareth Bale, according to Spurs would be price around 40 – 45 million pounds.

But Barcelona have broken their banks before and now with the 150 million pound deal with the Qatar Foundation, Barcelona could make it happen.

Goal Line Technology Could Be Implemented Next Season in Premier League

2012 -12 might see goal line technology being used in Premier League, according the FA General Secretary Alex Horne. FIFA is still testing some systems in regards to the technology. And a decision is expected on Jul 12. FIFA has always opposed use of technology in the game. But there stance on the matter softened when Frank Lampard’s goal in the 2010 World Cup was disallowed even when the goal had clearly crossed the line.

Alex Horne told BBC, “For years, we’ve thought this was a good addition to referees’ armory. It’s possible we could see (goal-line technology) in the Premier League as early as 2012-13.”

There has been a lot of instances in the biggest of leagues where referees had made wrong decisions and this step seems to be in the right direction as it helps the referees make correct decisions. Alex Horne added, “It’s easy to make mistakes and we’ve all seen examples where the referee and assistant referee can’t see if a ball has crossed the line or not. We need to support them in decision-making.”

FA’s stance has been appreciated by Premier League managers such as Liverpool’s Kenny Dalglish and Bolton’s Owen Coyle. Coyle said, “We have the best game in world, but the one thing I’d do to improve the game, if I could, is goal-line technology.”

The system is still in testing phase and a second batch of testings would take place in March next year. The basic purpose of the testing is to create a technology which gives result in one second. The final decision will be taken by the International Football Association Board.

It seems like that finally steps are taken to remove any kind of discrepancy from the beautiful game. If the technology is used  in Premier League, it would be a big step towards refinement of the game.
