Everything You Need to Know About the FC 26 VPN Exploit

FC 26

Just weeks after EA Sports FC 26’s highly anticipated launch, the gaming community finds itself embroiled in a controversy. A VPN error has led to people getting thousands of FP very cheap, creating what many thought was a market breaking exploit that has disproportionately affected PC players while leaving console gamers watching from the sidelines. The controversy centers around a technical vulnerability that allows players using VPNs to manipulate regional pricing and access systems, enabling them to acquire FIFA Points the game’s premium currency at drastically reduced prices.

According to Reddit user u/Lawakawaa here is how it works: after purchasing 18,500 FC Points for 2 million Indonesian rupiah using a VPN in the Indonesian region, it incorrectly summarized the order and included a decimal point error. Instead of paying 2 million Indonesian rupiah (500 Polish zloty), the payment was 2,000 Indonesian rupiah (4.47 Polish zloty). This led to people buying tons of FIFA Points for 500,000 and 300,000 and opening the packages.

This is not the first time this has happened either as according to this twitter user, a similar exploit happened in Fifa 15.

The PC market is separate from console and there is different pricing for players using the transfer market. PC players have usually faced higher pricing compared to console users.

However it seems this was a niche issue and the market has remained relatively unaffected, as this user has stated.

Even the prices are in the same ballpark, Florian Wirtz is in fact more expensive on console with the difference being just 3000.

Once again it is always important to check information online, yes there was a glitch that existed and maybe a few people took advantage of it but for both PC & Console players there has been no change to the market and everything is how it was before.
