(Video) Anfield curse continues for Roberto Firmino as new training footage emerges

Liverpool are unbeaten in the league at Anfield for more than three years now but their striker not scoring a single goal at home makes you wonder if curses really exist.

The person in question is none other than Roberto “Bobby” Firmino.

The stat in question is the absence of a Premier League goal at home by the Brazilian forward.

All of his 8 Premier League goals this season have been away from Anfield with the forward’s last home goal coming in the 2-1 league win against Tottenham back in March 2019.

In the cup competitions meanwhile, aside from the extra-time goal in the second leg tie against Atletico Madrid in March, his last Anfield goal was in the Champions League quarterfinal tie against Porto back in April 2019.

The latest training footage from a practice game suggests that his goalscoring woes at Anfield show no signs of abating.

The 11-on-11 practice game among the Liverpool squad shows the no. 9 having a tough day in front of the goal.

After harrying Fabinho in midfield, the forward received the ball in front of goal but with only the goalkeeper to beat, he side-footed the ball well-wide.

The practice game was played under the watchful eyes of the manager Jürgen Klopp with the squad building up match fitness for the Merseyside derby on June 20.

The likes of Sadio Mane, Naby Keita, and youngster Curtis Jones looked sharp with former two getting on the scoresheet.

Overall, the game was quite open with both sets of defences looking rusty but an important 90 minutes for the squad in their quest to get back to full fitness.
