EA Brings Major Quality-of-Life Updates to FC 26 Objectives Tab

FC 26

EA Sports FC 26 continues its evolution, and a key quality of life improvement that significantly enhances the player experience is the overhauled Objective tab and in match tracker which should come for the next update in preparation for the Scream Promo. These changes are designed to make the constant grind for rewards more transparent, manageable, and ultimately more rewarding.

To truly appreciate the improvements in FC 26, it is essential to understand the problems players faced in previous editions. The previous objective system was a major point of frustration for the community due to a lack of clarity and inconvenient tracking. The single biggest pain point was the lack of any real time, in match tracker. In previous titles, when a player was pursuing a challenge like Score a goal with a Brazilian player in three separate matches, their only way to check their progress was to exit the match and navigate through several layers of the main menu to the Objectives tab and then scroll further to check the objective. Challenges were spread across various tabs like Daily, Weekly, Milestones, Season Progress, and Live FUT Friendlies objectives, requiring constant menu navigation just to see all active tasks.

The new Objective tab serves as a more centralized and intuitive hub for all challenges and goals within the game. Instead of navigating multiple, fragmented menus, players can now find most of their tasks in one organized place. Objectives are categorized logically, allowing players to quickly filter and find the challenges relevant to the mode they are currently playing, such as Daily, Weekly, Seasonal, or Live Event Objectives. This reduction in menu hopping saves valuable time and minimizes frustration. A significant addition is the ability to preview Evolution challenge requirements and player eligibility criteria before committing to owning the corresponding Evolution item. This crucial foresight allows players to better plan their squad development and investments, ensuring they are working towards achievable goals with the right players. Players can now favourite and track specific Objectives or Objective Groups. This feature is the foundation of the in match improvements, allowing users to customize their focus and quickly see their progress on key challenges.

Perhaps the most impactful change is the seamless integration of an in match tracker. For the first time, favourited Objectives along with Evolutions and Rivals Bounties appear directly in the Pause Menu.

This tracker provides real time updates on objective progress, eliminating the guesswork of whether a specific action like a goal type, a scoreline, or an assist with a particular player has counted toward a challenge. Players no longer have to wait until the end of a match to confirm their actions. By providing instant feedback, the tracker allows players to make immediate strategic adjustments in game. For example, if a player is close to completing a Score 2 goals with a Spanish Player objective, seeing the progress tick up encourages them to take more chances with their Spanish players. This feature drastically reduces the need to constantly quit a match, check the main menu, and then re enter, making the overall flow of the game smoother and less interruptive.

The constant cycle of completing challenges to earn packs, players, and coins is a core mechanic of the Ultimate Team experience. By making the path to rewards clearer, the game encourages players to engage more deeply with the content. However given EA’s recent track record I have a feeling that this will end up being buggy and sometimes it will not track the objectives properly, hopefully EA have ironed out any issues and we get a much needed quality of live improvement.
