It has been a glorious month for Barcelona fans as the Catalan club has done exceedingly well to rebuild from financial ruin. From the Spotify sponsorship to the various big names that they have been able to attract during this transfer window, Joan Laporta and Mateu Alemany have been able to restore competitive standards and a sense of pride back at Camp Nou.
The footballing community has been quick to applaud the club’s hierarchy for the revamps in such a short time considering the grim situation just a year back. The Spanish side’s state was so poor that even the club’s kits for the 2021-22 campaign were heavily disliked by supporters.
The home kit inspired by the design of the Barca badge was meant to retain the rich history of the club however, due to poor execution the kit drew heavy flak and was even voted as one of the worst kits in the history of the club.
Fast Forward to the upcoming 2022/23 season, fortunes have changed for Barca and it looks like the club and Nike have been able to successfully incorporate the badge design.
As per a leak on Twitter, the club’s third kit for the upcoming season will employ the red and blue cross in the middle of the kit.
While last year’s home kit used the red-blue cross sparingly by the right breast pocket, this third kit has the cross firmly placed in the centre, double the size in comparison. This goes on top of a grey base shade that does well to illuminate the key design in the middle.
There also appears to be a faint designer print in the background of the grey in the middle and on the arm sleeves that add nuance to the kit.
With the club having released both their home and away strips already, Barca fans are now on the lookout for the announcement for the third kit which would very likely feature their new talisman Robert Lewandowski donning it.
Few supporters look to have already gone and made edits of the Polish striker in the new kit giving a loose idea as to how it would appear.
Of course, it is only fitting that Lewandowski leads the promos for this smashing new kit as it marks not just the relaunch of an old design but it also signals the rebirth of Barcelona as a club.
