There is simply no way anyone can deny the role injuries have played in Tottenham’s ongoing relegation-inducing 25/26 season.
Spurs currently have 11 players out due to injuries as Xavi Simons became the latest to be sidelined during the 1-0 win over Wolves at Molineux last weekend.
Robert De Zerbi’s side pulled off a much needed win but it came at a high cost as it wasn’t just the Dutchman but Dominic Solanke also joined the dreaded injury list.
While the Italian manager was hopeful about the English striker, calling it a muscular injury, Simons will probably be out for 7 months after he ruptured the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) in his right knee.

Simons will not only miss all the 4 games remaining in the Premier League as Spurs look to avoid the 18th spot in the points table, but his World Cup dreams have been shattered too.
Amid the chaos, the incredible number of injuries Spurs have suffered since 2023 has put the medical team in spotlight for all wrong.
The controversy erupted after it was noticed that Simons was trying to run his ACL tear off, possibly under the advise of Tottenham physios.
🚨 NEW: Take a look at this angle where Tottenham Hotspur’s medical team completely clueless on Xavi Simons' situation.

He clearly suffered a knee distress, yet they told him to "run it off."
Honestly, it seems like the whole club is clueless, they really don’t know what… pic.twitter.com/VQEhXIL0YE
The controversy turned into full blown conspiracy theory after Xavi removed all Spurs related content from his Instagram account and left photos from RB Leipzig and PSV Eindhoven days.
Fans connected their own dots and came to the conclusion that this was Xavi indirectly blaming the club for his injury.
The La Masia graduate has 6.8 million followers on Instagram, so every move he does on the Meta-owned app gets noticed.
But Xavi himself cleared the air on his massive Instagram cleanup job by deleting all of his IG posts.

His IG profile with ‘0 posts’ was a weird sight for sure but soon a new photo popped up.
The only photo that now remains on Xavi Simons’ Instagram is with the black Spurs kit he donned against Wolves, along with a heartbreaking caption reflecting his thoughts on the devastating injury.

Cleaning your Insta off all memories certainly raises eyebrows but we believe the possible reason behind is something more powerful.
Something that he would need to overcome the hardest part of his football career so far.
The Instagram clean up can be seen as a reset, Xavi’s way of saying what’s done is done, the only thing that now matters is how he faces this adversity.
If this is indeed what he meant by deleting his old IG posts, that’s sure the best attitude to have at this moment.
