Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand called David De Gea the best goalkeeper in the world currently after the Spaniard spectacularly denied Luis Muriel from point-blank range during Manchester United’s 0-0 draw against Sevilla last night.
Manuel Neuer fans probably wouldn’t agree but De Gea put forth a strong case for the claim as he pulled off exactly the kind of save that sets him apart from the rest during the Champions League game last night.
And new information available online suggests the United goalkeeper was quicker than a lightning while making the save at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium.

With the month of September looming over the horizon, Tottenham Hotspur will now have to focus on the UEFA Champions League as well.
Spurs have been drawn in what can be termed as arguably the deadliest group, as they will have to fight it out with defending champions Real Madrid, German giants Borussia Dortmund and Cyprus-based Apoel Nicosia.
It is obvious that Mauricio Pochettino will need all the help he can get in leading his side to the next round.
Popular Spanish newspaper Marca tried to do its bit in helping the Spurs boss by suggesting a lineup that he could use, but it seems like he could definitely do better without it.

Almost every study on the subject will reveal the fact that Manchester United is one of the richest clubs in the world in terms of the volume of money they earn by kit sales.
The club’s deal with German sportswear brand Adidas about three years ago was worth a mammoth £750 million, with the company obligated to design United’s kit for ten years.
While the newest kits for 2017-18 were released officially in May, footyheadlines.com has revealed what the Red Devils shall be wearing in training before games next season.
Inspired by the club’s iconic designs dating back to 1980s the new United pre-match shirt is black with a distorted red graphic print, with the three trademark Adidas stripes along the shoulders.

After much-deserved summer breaks following long and tiring seasons footballers are usually seen holidaying with their families in exotic countries, preferably those with elegant beaches. But Rob Green has always been a different breed.
The Leeds goalkeeper was spotted partying at the Isle of Wight Festival dressed as 1980’s hero Danger Mouse, all complete with giant ears, white hat and the iconic eye patch that the cartoon was famous for.
Green was not the only former member of the English national team to be having a great time, as Stoke City striker Peter Crouch was also found partying hard with fans, albeit without dressing in fancy costumes.
Leeds United will need their shot-stopper to be in the same spirits when they will try and have another shot at gaining promotion to the Premier League next season, but surely not in the gloves he has been seen wearing in the pictures below –
A man must be very careful about his first impression for it is also the last one he is granted, and Fabio Cardoso has managed to strike a right chord with Rangers fans in this regard.
Cardoso became the became the fourth signing for Rangers this summer, which also makes him the third Portuguese player to join the Ibrox side after Bruno Alves and Dalcio.
The central defender signed for Pedro Caixinha’s team after making 23 appearances for Vitoria Setubal, where he joined as a former Benfica B player last summer.
Whether Cardoso will live up to expectations of the club is only for time to tell, but what is certain is that he’s already won over a lot of Gers fans with this Instagram post (especially the caption) right after joining them –
Being called up to your national squad is something few can boast of, but the same for an 18-year old boy is a completely different level of achievement.
Rangers defender Myles Beerman recently became one such player to earn his place in the Maltese national team at the ripe age of eighteen.
The teenager was brought top Ibrox from Manchester City less than a year ago. While former manager Mark Warburton did not give a place to Beerman in the Rangers first team right away, it has been current boss Pedro Caixinha who brought the player to limelight by using him to replace injured captain Lee Wallace this year.
And things seems to have gone really well ever since for the player, who was welcomed into the Maltese national team with the traditional right of passage involving team-mates shaving his head.

It was momentous, it was breath taking, it was historic. Celtic drew curtains on their entire season going unbeaten by defeating Aberdeen 2-1 to lift the Scottish Cup and completed a treble.
From a quick Celtic response to Aberdeen’s early opener, to substitute Tom Rogic’s last-minute winner, the thrilling game had its moments that kept fans at the edge of their seats.
One such moment involved Hoops defender Kieran Tierney being taken off after being smacked on his mouth by Jayden Stockley’s arm in the 27th minute.
Tierney was taken to the hospital for treatment, and in order to make his presence felt during the award ceremony after the game, his buddy Patrick Roberts donned the player’s shirt while celebrating.
Some serious bromance and pure relationship goals, check out Roberts flashing Tierney’s shirt below –
After what was another exhilarating run up to the Champions League final, Real Madrid are all set to face Juventus in a historic bid to defend their Champions League crown.
But while all eyes will be on the epic showdown on the 4th of June, a rather interesting stat has been doing the rounds on social media, one that all Celtic fans will love.
Despite Celtic failing to progress past the group stages, Celtic skipper Scott Brown still incredibly leads the charts in terms of interceptions made.
Brown made a total of 30 interceptions despite only playing six times in the Champions League. Quite some feat there from the fiery Bhoys captain.

The fact that John Terry is set to leave Chelsea this season has left the Chelsea fanbase just a little bit deflated. Although everyone knew it was coming, the confirmation of the news from the man himself was the final confirmation that we are seeing the last of the legend in a blue shirt.
Given how special John Terry is for Chelsea – an Academy grown talent who rose through the ranks and became captain of the side – it would be safe to say that fans would want his farewell to be grand.
Some fans have already planned to hang nothing but Terry banners at the Bridge. Cesar Azpilicueta has his own ideas as the Spanish defender revealed his grand plans for sending off John Terry in the perfect way.
Unsurprisingly, it involved winning some silverware as well as giving the departing legend a chance to do something he has done many times in his Chelsea career – hold up the trophies.

Philippe Coutinho might be that one decisive player who has filled a massive void in Liverpool’s midfield line-up, but it appears that an even larger one fill up his boot now.
The midfielder started Liverpool’s game against Crystal Palace yesterday with an unusually big hole cut out in the heel of his right boot.
While nothing like this has been seen before, it is speculated that the reason Coutinho might have subjected his boot to this is to prevent a blister on his foot from bothering him much.
While a hole in the boot might have helped Coutinho score a goal against Palace, it was clearly not enough as Liverpool suffered a major setback to their top-four campaign with a 1-2 loss.
