Norwegian champions Bodo/Glimt escorted by F-16s on their way home after winning the title

Now this is seriously badass

Being touted as Norway’s Leicester City, Bodo/Glimt have won the Eliteserien for the first time in their 104-year old history.

With 5 games to spare, the club from Northern Norway accomplished the feat after beating Stromsgodset 2-1 at the Marienlyst Stadion in Gulskogen.

Last 4 years have been rather eventful for the team from Bodo.

The Superlaget were promoted to the top tier of Norwegian football in 2017 but were almost relegated a season later.

They bounced back last season and finished in the second spot before clinching their maiden Eliteserien title yesterday.

An impressive feat from the northern-most top tier club in Norway, who were rewarded for their efforts by the Air Force contingent stationed at Bodo.

The Scandinavian Airlines flight was escorted by a host F-16 fighter jets as the Bodo/Glimt squad flew back home after their win against Stromsgodset yesterday.
