Who Should You Buy for FPL GW3 Based on Form and Fixtures

Fantasy Premier League

As Gameweek 2 concludes and another slow and disappointing start to our teams, FPL managers are already looking ahead to Gameweek 3 to make crucial transfers. With some highly-owned players underperforming and a few unexpected heroes emerging, here’s a breakdown of the players to target for the upcoming fixtures.

Defenders to Consider

Pedro Porro: Spurs have a fantastic run of fixtures, and Porro is a great way to get attacking returns from their defense. He’s an attacking full-back who can provide both clean sheet potential and offensive points. Wolves and Leeds at home as well as West Ham in their next 5 fixtures make him a very good option. You could also look at Romero for the DC points.

Marc Cucurella: The Blues have shown some defensive solidity, and he could be a good value pick for your backline. The Spaniard is also a bonus point magnet and has the ability to get some good attacking returns alongside assists from the left flank. The only issue is his price £6.1m makes him the most expensive defender alongside Gabriel, Saliba and Aït-Nouri.

Bang for your Buck midfielders

Antoine Semenyo: After a blistering start to the season, Semenyo has emerged as a top transfer target. With back-to-back returns and strong underlying stats, he’s a goal threat with a favorable fixture against a Tottenham team that, while strong, can be exploited. Great fixtures and he is the current highest midfield points scorer at £7.2m seems like a no brainer.

Cody Gakpo: The Dutchman has gotten to a flying start just like Semenyo. He also plays for a much better attacking side under Arne Slot and seems to have that Left Wing spot nailed. He does have Arsenal at home next but after that fixtures are much better and even against top teams, Liverpool look to be a goal machine. Cheap and easy route in that Liverpool team at £7.5m.

Forwards to add to your team

Chris Wood: If you’re looking for a budget-friendly forward with a high ceiling, Wood is an excellent pick, He faces a West Ham defense that has looked vulnerable, making him a tempting punt for managers seeking to climb the ranks. He also faces Burnley and Sunderland in his next 4 fixtures. Nottingham Forest look really threatening and have made some solid transfers to bolster their attack.

Benjamin Sesko: This is a very rogue shout but Manchester United have looked woeful in attacking, barring Cunha no one has been able to stand out. The Slovenian could be in line for his first ever start in the Premier League against newly promoted Burnley at home after very underwhelming performances from Mason Mount. He is known for his physicality, explosive pace, and aerial ability, which could make him a potent goal threat, especially with players like Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo providing service. His strength in the air is a particularly interesting aspect of his game, as Manchester United struggled in this area for a long time.
