Tottenham fans can’t seem to catch a break, after a hugely disappointing season last time around, finishing 17th, many hoped for a turn of form. However, things are only looking more and more hapless for the North London based club.
Spurs are currently sitting at the 18th spot for the season, which came as a result of Nordi Mukiele dagger seeing the club drop 3 points against the newly promoted Sunderland FC. With only 6 games remaining, this could be an enormous blow to the club’s chance of Premier League survival.
While Nottingham Forest shared points with Aston Villa this week, West Ham United came away with a convincing win against Wolves, dealing a tremendous blow to Spurs. They now sit in a relegation spot, only above Wolverhampton and Burnley in the Premier League table.
To make matters worse, their captain, Cristian Romero, was forced off the field after a collision with goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky. The 27 years old was seen painfully holding his knee after the incident, now reports are claiming that he is set to miss the rest of the season with this knee injury.
Newly appointed manager Roberto De Zerbi was asked about the player after the match, and the manager expressed how important the Argentine is for the club, hailing his ‘big personality’. He is surely going to be a big miss for the relegation threatened club as they fight to cling on to their spot in the PL.
But that hasn’t stopped rival fans from finding joy in the misery of others, especially Tottenham fans. A new video that surfaced online shows a brutal interaction between Romero and an Arsenal fan. While taking a walk in Central London, the Argentina international was spotted at 120 Moorgate sporting a knee brace to go with his orange co-Ord, however, the fan didn’t spare him any blushes as he wished him luck in the second division of English football.

The fan can be heard saying, “Cristian, good luck in the champs (Championship), man.” The Spurs captain didn’t react as he kept on walking by, choosing to ignore such provocations by the fans.
The Lilywhites will be hosting Brighton & Hove Albion FC this Saturday, which now seems to be a huge match-up now as they are staring down the barrel of relegation. To contrast the two clubs, Spurs have only got 1 point from their last 5 games in the PL, meanwhile Brighton have only lost 1, winning the rest of their last 5 games.
If the reigning Europa League champions don’t turn their form around. They very well could need luck in the EFL Championship next season, the club’s last relegation came 49 years ago in 1976-77 season.
