The Magpies have adopted a simple strategy to invest in young and promising talents who have high potential and can become key members of the first-team in the future.
In the summer transfer window, Newcastle United signed Bazoumana Toure, Sean Steur, Aladji Bamba, and Ousmane Diabate, all aged 20 or under.
Manager Matthias Jaissle is now responsible for guiding a young team to do better than last season, when they finished outside the top half of the Premier League and missed out on European football.
Currently, Newcastle United are struggling to string together victories in the league, and in the last five games, they have only won one match and are now on a two-game losing streak.
Despite investing heavily in attack, Jaissle’s side is yet to fire on all cylinders and score crucial goals to win matches consistently this campaign.
During the winter transfer window, the Magpies will want to add more firepower to their attack, and it seems they have found a forward of their choice in the UAE second division.
According to Yahoo Sports, Newcastle United are scouting Forte Virtus striker Dyeidu Massiah, and the club are keen to add him to their frontline and could make an offer in the near future.
Dyeidu Massiah arrived at Forte Virtus in the summer of 2026, and in the current campaign, he has netted 4 goals in five games.
The 19-year-old has attracted interest not only from Newcastle United, but also from Spanish side Racing Santander and Swedish outfit AIK.
The Ghanaian favours a highly direct attacking style and is a versatile attacker, as he can play as a striker, winger, and at times as an attacking midfielder.
Massiah has blistering pace, combined with good ball control, and the ability to glide past defenders in one-on-one situations with high-level dribbling skills.
Currently, Yoane Wissa and Matias Fernandez-Pardo were deployed in the number 9 position, as William Osula was sidelined due to an injury.
On the flanks, Anthony Elanga, Bazoumana Toure, Jacob Murphy, and Harvey Barnes provide speed, crosses, and goal threat during quick counterattacks.
Besides that, Nick Woltemade is on a season-long loan at Juventus, and Newcastle United’s attack has been stretched thin.
Jaissle prefers to play a high-tempo, high-pressing, and high-intensity system, which is focused on the attackers pressing the opposition defenders to carve out goal-scoring opportunities from their mistakes.
Moreover, Jaissle’s systems also focus on vertical, rapid transitions, with attackers expected to make runs behind the opposition defence.
Massiah could fit well in Jaissle’s system, considering he is a player who plays direct attacking football and has speed, agility, dribbling skills, and high stamina.
However, Massiah is not the only attacker on Newcastle United’s radar, as the Magpies are also interested in Benfica winger Gianluca Prestianni, who has an £87M release clause.
It remains to be seen whether Newcastle United will turn their interest into a concrete offer to sign Massiah in the upcoming winter transfer window.
