Hansi Flick’s Untouchable: PSG Plotting Bold Raid For Barca Gem

Barcelona

Fermin Lopez progressed through Barcelona’s famous La Masia academy, and currently he has established himself as one of the key members of the first-team.

The Spanish international missed the recent FIFA World Cup due to an injury, but after returning from injury to club football, he has been on fire in front of goal.

Manager Hansi Flick has utilised Lopez in the attacking midfield position, and he has repaid the faith shown by the German manager with goals and assists both in La Liga and in the UEFA Champions League.

Barcelona recently suffered their first defeat in La Liga at the hands of arch-rivals Real Madrid, which ended their long winning streak, but they are still at the top of the table.

Following Fermin Lopez’s brilliant performances at Barcelona this term, several clubs across Europe are plotting to lure him away from the Spotify Camp Nou.

According to Ekrem Konur, Paris Saint-Germain, who have been keeping tabs on Fermin Lopez for a long period of time, are preparing to make an offer for the Spanish international.

However, Paris Saint-Germain are not the only club interested in his signature, as Chelsea and Arsenal are also keen to sign him and have added him to their wishlist of potential transfers.

Fermin Lopez committed his future to Barcelona after signing a long-term contract with the club, which means that it will not be easy to take him out of their hands, and interested clubs might need to pay a premium to sign him.

At the moment, Barcelona are stretched thin in the attacking midfield position, as apart from Fermin Lopez, they only have Dani Olmo, and he has been sidelined due to an injury to his left adductor muscle and is expected to miss weeks of footballing action.

Besides that, the Blaugrana are under no pressure to sell Lopez in the upcoming winter transfer window in the middle of the season or in the near future, as he is one of the key members of the squad and is tied down to the club for the next couple of seasons.

Moreover, Hansi Flick labelled Fermin Lopez as a special player when he helped the club lift the Copa del Rey against Racing Santander last term, and he also praised him for his attitude and versatility.

Hansi Flick was quoted as saying by Barca Blaugranes: “He’s special. Not all players are like him. I like his attitude, his dynamism; he changes the course of a match with his movement, his passing, and he also scores. He’s always in the right position. He’s a very good player for us.”

Fermin Lopez is just 23, and with a long-term contract at the club, combined with his love for Barcelona, he could become one of the best players in the club’s history if he stays at Camp Nou.

Paris Saint-Germain have a knack for buying players from Barcelona, as they famously signed Neymar Junior for a world record fee, and then brought the likes of Ousmane Dembele, Dro Fernandez, and Ferran Torres.

It remains to be seen whether Fermin Lopez will stay put at Barcelona or the Spanish international will make a move elsewhere in the future.
