Esporte Clube Comercial goalkeeper Martins paid no regards to the rules of football as he hilariously went off his line and charged towards the penalty taker during the loss against Esporte Clube Costa Rica.

The Campeonato Sul-Mato-Grossense fixture between the two sides delivered one of the most bizarre instances in football as Costa Rica won 1-4 at Morenao.

It was the home side who took the lead first but were soon pegged back when Joãozinho scored from the penalty spot despite the silly antics from Martins.

According to the penalty kick rule in football – “The goalkeeper must stand on the goal line between the goalposts until the ball is kicked. Lateral movement is allowed, but the goalkeeper is not permitted to come off the goal line by stepping or lunging forward until the ball is in play.”
