Liverpool Striker Darwin Nunez Looks Wildly Different with His Hair Down

The upcoming Premier League season has fans more hyped than usual, particularly due to the new stars signed by various clubs. There have been impressive arrivals all across the board, but the brand new frontmen are specifically exciting.

Norwegian superstar Erling Haaland is all set to ply his trade in England for Manchester City, while their title rivals Liverpool have brought in promising striker Darwin Nunez.

The 23-year-old topped everyone’s radar after enjoying a breakout season with Benfica, which included an excellent display against his current employers at Anfield. The Uruguayan clearly caught Jurgen Klopp’s eye, as the German gaffer pushed for Nunez this summer.

After looking a bit lacklustre during his first few appearances in pre-season, rivals fans quickly jumped on Nunez’s case, and audaciously labelled him as a ‘flop’. It didn’t take long for the Uruguayan to fire back, and he did so by netting 4 goals against RB Leipzig, effectively silencing all the criticism. He’ll be looking to continue his scoring streak as Liverpool comes up against RB Salzburg next.

To prepare for the game, the Merseyside Reds are currently in Austria, and pictures from the training camp led to a surprising revelation regarding their new striker.

Nunez really carries a striking personality, standing at 6’1, he’s certainly an imposing figure. Paired with tattooed sleeves and a signature ponytail, the Zlatan Ibrahimovic vibes are easy to notice.

However, the young striker may just have had a change of heart, or at least that’s what these training images suggest.

As seen in them, the striker opted to tuck his glorious mane beneath a hairband, instead of tying them up at the back.

The look certainly suits him, and fans seem to be on board as well, especially since it reminded them of another hairband-clad forward who starred in Red.

The man in question is the iconic Spaniard Fernando Torres, who ripped apart the Prem with Liverpool, before jumping ship to Chelsea.  Reds still hold a soft spot for El Nino, and if Nunez is able to replicate the Spaniard’s success, he’ll undoubtedly become a part of Liverpool folklore.

Fans were also reminded of Virgil van Dijk‘s glorious hair, and there appeared to be genuine requests for their hair treatment routines.  The idea is certainly intriguing, and hopefully will be picked up by LFCTV.
