WATCH: The Impressive Clean Sheet Stroll of Van Dijk, Alisson and Konate

Liverpool are making a stride towards the title with a lead at the top of the table extending to five points as of now.

“Attack wins you games, defense wins you title”, as Sir Alex Ferguson has aptly said, Liverpool’s title challenge has been rock solid on the back of their impeccable defense.

And who else to credit it with but the reliable guardians in the backlines by the name of Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate and the wall at the back called Alisson Becker.

In the recent clean sheet victory against Bournemouth, the three were ever present at the back to empower their attackers to do their thing.

After the match, a shot of these three walking away from camera, has us mesmerized. Shared by Liverpool’s official twitter account with a caption of cold face emoji, the short video does look ice cold.

In the five second video, dressed in away white and green of Liverpool, the number 4, 1 and 5 of the squad are seen walking towards the dressing room after thanking the supporters. There is a certain calming presence about them.

The duo in front of Alisson had seven recoveries, thirteen clearances and fifteen duels won in the match. They were so impressive that all Alisson had to do was make a couple of easy saves.

In the short clip, they seem to be in some sort of conversation while strolling off and the stance resembles that of the heroes walking away from explosion in the movies.

Liverpool fans are head over heels about this and have flocked over to twitter to express their admiration. They are sure about this trio being the best defensive set in the game right now.

This picture painted in the video does give us a similar vibe to that of Maldini Nesta and Dida days. But are the statistics backing up the claim!

Liverpool’s backline boasts a joint league highest 8 clean sheets this season. This is also the reason that they have only encountered only 1 loss in 21 games as of now.

Liverpool faithful are calling them the bricks of the wall that never caves in and rightfully so. They haven’t lost a match in the league whenever they have played together. That is some record to have. No wonder the fans are in love with the trio.

This video has already achieved the iconic status and many edits of this with some slow motion and epic sounding music have made it to the social media. The chemistry between the three has been great off and on the pitch.

The French international, Konate, was named the man of the match in the latest Bournemouth game. He had missed a few games due to injury and it was during his comeback that Joel Matip had to fill in for him in the game vs Tottenham in September. That is the only loss for Liverpool squad.

The reds have had their fair share of defensive injuries but if these players are to see through the season without any more hiccups, Liverpool look like they will be claiming another title this season. Next up they face Fulham in the FA Cup semi-final.
