Liverpool seemed like a team set for greatness in the lead up to the 25/26 season. Defending champions of the Premier League, finalists in the Carabao Cup; and of course the return of the partnership with Adidas.
The partnership with Nike had been ongoing since the 2020-21 season and ended last season as liverpool signed a 10 year deal with Adidas till the 2035 season
Adidas and Liverpool’s partnership have seen some iconic kit drops. The most notable however of these drops is of course the jersey Liverpool wore in the iconic 2005 Champions League Final against AC Milan. The jersey saw them come back from 3-0 down in the first half to win the final on penalties and get their 5th ever Champions League title.
The german jersey giants did not disappoint as they dropped three absolute stunners for the home, away and third jerseys. The jerseys were well recieved and coupled with Liverpool’s incredible transfer window it felt like the club was ready to do one better than the previous season.

Despite the incredible kits released, the season has not panned out as planned for Liverpool as they currently sit 5th in the league table under immense danger of not even qualifying for next season’s Champions League spots. They were also eliminated from the carabao cup in the fourth round and the penultimate blow was delivered by Man City as they beat them 4-0 in the FA Cup. Liverpool now hope for a miracle in the Champions League as their only remaining hope for silverware this season.
As this season continues to deliver it’s challenges, they also have glimpses of next season to look forward to. The first of which came in the form of the leaked away kit for the 26/27 season.

The leak was posted by kit insider grhaer9.
The away kit features a predominantly white background, the first time Liverpool will have a white away kit since 2023/24. The jersey also features maroon red deatailing on the collar, cuffs and crest. The jersey will also have the number 97 printed on the back of the collar in memory of the victims of the Hillsbourough disaster in 1997. The shirt also has intricate patterns blended into the background which are also seen on the away kit. Adidas also switched out it’s own performance logo for the classic trefoil logo.
The most interesting feature noted however, was the Liverpool crest. The crest was in maroon and is said to have been inspired by the logo that was printed on ticket stubs for matches in the 1970’s. The shield style design was clearly popular as it went on to become the official Liverpool crest from 1987 to 1992.

The jersey will be available for fans from Late July to Early August 2026.
