Everton Fans Shocked as Sean Dyche Pops Up on Celebs Go Dating Episode

Sean Dyche

Former Everton manager Sean Dyche may not be one of the most successful in English Premier League history, but he has certainly captured the spotlight on several occasions over the years. His first managerial career came in 2011, when he managed Watford for a year after the previous coach, Malky Mackay left to join Cardiff City. Despite doing a good job by reaching eleventh place in the FL Championship, he was sacked after a change of ownership. Later in 2012, he was appointed as Burnley FC new coach after Eddie Howe left the club to join Bournemouth.

After Dyche arrived at Burnley in 2012, the Englishman wouldn’t leave until 2022, literally 10 years later. During this time, Dyche twice guided Burnley to the Premier League; in the 2013/2014 and 2015/2016 seasons. A few years later, during the 2017/2018 season, he led them to a European campaign for the first time since 1967, playing in the UEFA Europa League but they were quickly eliminated in the play-off round by the Greek club Olympiacos. Despite that, this classification made Sean Dyche a cult hero at Burnley. Two years after the COVID-19 pandemic, Dyche was dismissed by Burnley and later, in 2023, he went to coach Everton FC, but his time there wasn’t great and was sacked in early 2025 after bad results.

Since then, Dyche has distanced himself from football somewhat and has not managed any other team to date, but he has appeared on football-related TV shows and also on Celebs Go Dating, which has come as a surprise to all England fans. In the next tweet we can see the news about his appearance in Celebs Go Dating and some screenshots from the episode.

For those who don’t know this TV show, Celebs Go Dating is an E4 TV show where celebrities pair up and go through very romantic or also very awkward moments.

Sean Dyche actually only appeared on Celebs Go Dating to say hello to his friend Kerry Katona, who is currently looking for a partner after splitting with her ex-husband, Ryan Mahoney, in November of last year. In the episode, we see Dyche arriving unexpectedly to Katona’s date with Paolo Margaglione. Dyche greets his friend and also greets Paolo. They engage in a brief conversation, and then the English manager says goodbye and leaves.

The funny thing is that not only were the fans surprised by this, but so was the voiceover man. Here we can see No Context Prem being as confused as many in England.

In fact, many Everton FC fans were also unaware that their former coach was good friends with Kerry Katona until the two appeared on this TV show. This is what this tweet from Daily Mail Sport says.

And the truth is, Dyche isn’t there looking for a romantic date, not at all. The English manager has been married to the love of his life, Jane, for 25 years and even has two children, Max, 22, and Alicia, 20. However, there is no denying that this was a bit of a surprise.
