Internet Cannot Stop Talking About Fabian Hurzeler’s Two Full Sleeve Tattoos

Body Talk, Brighton & Hove Albion, Fabian Hurzeler

Fabian Hurzeler, born on February 26, 1993, in Houston, is the current manager of the English club Brighton & Hove Albion and he also is the youngest head coach in the history of the Premier League, having reached this position at just 31 years old.

His beginnings as a manager began in 2016 when he was player-head coach of the German team FC Pipinsried at just 23 years old. He would be managing this team until 2020 and two years later, in 2022, he would retire as a footballer and become the head coach of FC St. Pauli. And there he would become the youngest head coach in the 2nd Bundesliga at just 29 years old. After several successes, the team would be promoted to the Bundesliga in 2024.

As we mentioned before, Hurzeler joins English club Brighton Hove & Albion at just 31 years old, and despite his young age for such a position, he has had a very successful run with the team. He even won the Manager of the Month award in August 2024 and led them to 8th place in the table, but they failed to qualify for European places as Crystal Palace won the 2025 FA Cup. Still, it was a good year for the Seagulls.

Many Albion fans have been surprised by how well the young manager has fared with the team. But some have been even more surprised by Hurzeler’s fully tattooed arms.

While he has obviously had these tattoos since his coaching days in Germany, some fans on social media didn’t realize until last weekend during the 2-0 loss to Everton.

The vast majority of these tattoos cover different aspects of his life. For example, he has a tattoo that says “LL”, which, according to him, means that the “low” moments have to be lifted. He also took inspiration from English football legend David Beckham for the Ut Amem Et Foveam tattoo that he has on his forearm, which is Latin for “So That I Love and Cherish”.

As per what he has stated in past interviews, some of the tattoos that he has are to honor his parents and siblings. He comes from a very humble family and has stated that they taught him the values he has carried throughout his life.

And the truth is that this “revelation” is taking a bit of a “Mandela Effect” turn, since many don’t remember him with tattooed sleeves.

The truth is that those tattoos look quite good on Hurzeler, and like many Brighton Hove & Albion fans, we too are surprised to see the young head coach with heavily tattooed sleeves.
