The release of the 85 Rated Flashback Leon Goretzka Squad Building Challenge has sparked considerable debate among the EA Sports FC 26 Ultimate Team community. Goretzka has historically been a fan favorite Box to Box midfielder, and this early game card, celebrating his past performances, carries both promise and a price tag that requires careful consideration.
The SBC is generally reported to cost around 75,000 to 80,000 coins to complete, though this can vary based on current fodder prices in your market. It requires 6 segments to complete, demanding a decent chunk of non tradable or purchased fodder and it expires in 5 days.

This Flashback card boasts well rounded stats, making him an excellent Box to Box option. A significant boost from his base card, feeling fast enough to cover ground in the midfield, especially when combined with his height and stride.
With high Strength (80) and Aggression (76), he’s a physical presence who can dominate the central areas. Solid passing stats, with a notable Long Passing (89) and Vision (84), ensuring reliable link up play. High Standing Tackle (80) and a large player model make him effective at winning the ball back.
He possesses the Relentless PlayStyle, which, alongside his increased Stamina (a noted upgrade from his Gold card), makes him capable of playing the entire 90 minutes without a significant drop off. He also has the Bruiser PlayStyle, enhancing his physical tackles.
What we saying?

However, unlike some market cards or future promotional players, he lacks a PlayStyle+, which can be a key differentiator in Ultimate Team this year not to mention lacks any meaningful defensive playstyles. The overall coin value (75-80k) is also a bit astronomical, it represents a substantial investment of high rated fodder early in the game, which could be saved for a potential game changing SBC (like a high profile Player of the Month card).
His Gold card could potentially be upgraded through a cheaper Evolution path, possibly making it a better value proposition for most players. Some community opinions suggest an evolved Gold Goretzka might even be comparable or slightly better depending on the available Evolution.
If you have the untradeable fodder to spare and have a Bundesliga squad, he maybe worth the investment. If your fodder is limited, and you’re planning a non Bundesliga squad or saving for a guaranteed ‘meta’ icon/SBC later, you might consider skipping him. I would personally skip this SBC as the cost to reward ratio is very high and doing an evolution makes more sense on him.
