What Is the Maximum SP Limit in FC 26? Annoying Season Pass Bug Sparks Outrage

FC 26

EA Sports FC 26 players have encountered an unexpected restriction while grinding through Season Pass objectives, a maximum hourly SP Season Points limit that has caught many off guard. This controversial cap has sparked heated discussions across the community, with players reporting lost progress and missing rewards. Here’s everything we know about this limitation and how it affects your Season Pass progression.

The SP limit became a major talking point when EA introduced easier objectives and substantially increased SP rewards in recent updates. Players reported climbing 10 levels in under an hour thanks to updated SP rewards and refreshed challenges, leading many to attempt marathon grinding sessions.

How is it Happening?

Recent objectives like Matías Soulé, Leandro Paredes, and the Red Bull Aerial Challenge award around 9,500 SP combined, plus an additional 5,000 SP from the Ultimate Team Seasonal challenge for completing 30 games. With such generous rewards available, dedicated players quickly hit the invisible wall.

When the limit is reached, players receive a notification stating “Maximum Hourly SP Limit Reached” or “Maximum SP Limit Reached.” At this point, any additional SP earned from completed objectives doesn’t count toward Season Pass progression. This is happening randomly as well, some players are getting the message for just claiming 3K XP whereas this user states that he got 17K XP despite rumours being that daily limit has been set to 10K XP. This seems to be more of a bug rather than a system as these values do not match up.

Do you lose your SP or does it apply later?

The community response has been overwhelmingly negative, with numerous reports of missing Season Points appearing on EA Forums and social media. One player reported grinding for at least four hours and discovering 3,000 SP missing from the Paredes Objective after hitting the limit. Despite restarting the game, PC, and even repairing game files, the missing points never appeared. Another user faced this issue and asked an EA advisor who stated that the SP will not be rewarded so the answer is Yes you do lose your SP to those who receive the dreaded SP limit message.

Did EA advertise this anywhere?

The worst part is that EA have mot advertised or talked about this system at all. There is no warning or official communication on what the exact XP limit is for the game. This also further enhances the theory that i have said of this most likely being a bug and not an intentional limit being set by EA themselves. Another user on twitter shared his experience when dealing with the customer support team on Live Chat where their response was ” they need time to investigate.”

Was it in FC 25?

Yes this system was in FC 25 as well, however it was not such a huge topic back then. We never got reports of some many players facing the same issue. Here is a user from FC 25 sharing the issue 10 months ago where they farmed 27K XP and should have reached level 30 but rather reached level 27 with “Maximum Daily SP Limit Reached” and they also did not receive that XP afterwards.

The Possible reason why this has been put

While EA hasn’t officially explained the reasoning behind the SP limit, there are several potential explanations. The cap may be designed to extend player engagement throughout the entire season rather than allowing completion in a single day or weekend. This keeps the player base active over the 4-6 week season duration. Limiting daily SP gains could be a measure to prevent players from exploiting glitches or farming methods that weren’t intended by developers. EA wants players to open their SP packs rather than trying to grind out the game. By capping daily SP, EA incentivizes players to log in regularly rather than binge playing sporadically, which improves retention metrics.

How to Maximize SP Gains Within the Limit

Review all available objectives and calculate total SP rewards before starting. This helps you identify which objectives to prioritize based on your current level and remaining days in the season. Instead of completing everything in one day, space out major objectives across multiple days to avoid hitting the cap with rewards you can’t claim. Complete Daily Objectives first, these refresh regularly and offer consistent SP. Prioritizing them ensures you don’t waste time on activities that won’t count toward progression. Rather than sporadic marathon sessions, establish a daily routine that earns 10,000-15,000 SP throughout the day rather than one single hour until we have more clarification, this puts you well below the cap while maintaining steady progression.

For now practice these few tips until EA addresses the issue which may or may not happen. EA really needs to improve their testing as in just a few weeks we have had the Kudus Gauntlet Bug then yesterday issues with Pre Season rewards and now this.
