After a five year absence, EA Sports is bringing back one of Ultimate Team’s most beloved promos. The Ultimate Scream event is set to return to EA Sports FC 26, marking the first time the Halloween themed celebration has appeared since FIFA 20 back in October 2019.
The last Ultimate Scream promo occurred in FIFA 20 (October 2019), featuring notable players like James Rodríguez, Zlatan Ibrahimović, Edin Džeko, Dele Alli and everyone’s favourite Roberto Firmino across two teams released in late October.
After FIFA 20, EA discontinued Ultimate Scream and introduced the Rulebreakers promo in FIFA 21 as a replacement during the Halloween window. While Rulebreakers had its own appeal, the FUT community has consistently voiced their desire for Ultimate Scream’s return. The promo’s unique Halloween aesthetic and unique theme created a special atmosphere that newer events haven’t quite replicated.
Official Design
The design has been leaked by reliable leaker @FutSheriff on Twitter and features a dinosaur’s teeth devouring the card while a picture of a bloody moon lies in place of the tongue at the centre of the card. A cheeky choice picking Luis Suarez who is known for his infamous biting incident. Looks like EA has really taken a shine to the brown colour, after featuring in both Cornerstones and Ratings Reload it has made a comeback yet again.

For older fans, this does not give the Halloween vibes as the older cards did such as FIFA 18 and 19 that featured the Halloween aesthetic of Bats, Orange Skies and Dark skies. The older ones had more of a charm and gave off a spooky vibe compared to the leaked card.
Expected Release Date
The event is scheduled to kick off on Friday, 24 October 2025, and will run for two weeks. Ultimate Scream Team 1 goes live on October 24, 2025, at 6 PM UK time, followed by Team 2 on October 31, 2025, with both teams remaining available until November 7, 2025. Following the same path as the release of the Ratings Reload promo. This two week format allows EA to build momentum throughout the Halloween season, giving players multiple opportunities to acquire these limited edition cards.
What Makes Ultimate Scream Special?
The Ultimate Team promo celebrates the spooky season by giving certain players a Halloween themed card with fantastic upgrades that transform them into monsters on the pitch. These cards stand out from standard items thanks to their spooky designs and significantly boosted attributes. These cards had significant stat boosts, for example, Ibrahimović’s Scream card received pace and dribbling upgrades that made the towering striker far more agile and explosive than normal. Some of these cards were so powerful that players kept them in their squads for months, well beyond their initial release. During Full moons we had boosts for 2-3 days however we have no confirmation if that feature will be present this time.
New Features for FC 26
For the first time, special Hero cards will also be included as part of the Ultimate Scream promo. .This being the first Ultimate Scream in the EA Sports FC era, there’s speculation about potential modern integrations such as Evolution paths for Scream cards or live stat changes during Halloween matches, though these remain unconfirmed.
Ultimate Scream’s return represents more than just nostalgia. It signals EA’s willingness to listen to community feedback something that they had promised to deliver this year and revive beloved content from the franchise’s history. As the first major returning promo in FC 26, it sets an exciting precedent for what else might come back in future updates.
