Aston Villa Coach Gets Yellow Card for Genius Shithousery

Aston Villa, John McGinn, Premier League

Aston Villa are on a dream run with 11 consecutive wins across competitions. The team equalled the club record of 11 consecutive wins in 1897 and the first ever time in this decade.

Their most recent victory, came away from home at Stamford Bridge, against world champions Chelsea.

Trailing by a goal at the end of first half, courtesy a goal from Joao Pedro, the Villans put into display their A game in the second half. Ollie Watkins came to the party after being subbed in during the second half. He started by finishing a through ball from Morgan Rogers in the 63rd minute, to level the scoreline. A thumping header from the English striker at the 83rd minute from a corner, left no chance for Sanchez to save as Aston Villa gained the lead and extended their hot run of series of victories.

Aston Villa’s substitutions turned out to be a good strategical move but the best was left for the last when Austin MacPhee, Aston villa’s set piece coach delivered a moment to remember for a long time.

Austin MacPhee has been part of Aston Villa’s Coaching set up since 2021. Different managers were at the head coach helm but MacPhee’s role has remain unchanged. He once again came to rescue of team on Saturday, helping out on a setpiece, just that it was Chelsea’s.

The game had entered the injury time with 5 mins as the added extra minutes. In the 94th minute, chelsea were desperately looking for an equalizer and the ball had went out of play. Neto had a ball in hand while Reece James, the usual thrower got another from the ball boys. When Neto put his ball down on the ground near the Aston Villa dugout, Austin MacPhee quickly pushed the ball into the field just as when Reece James was throwing, knowing that would make the throw null and would have a retake, slowing down the time. This cheeky little strategy earned him an yellow in a night where Stuart Atwell, the referee had a busy day giving out 8 yellow cards.

The quirky attempt even had John McGinn, Aston Villa’s captain, rolling in laughter as he shared a tweet with laughing emojis and a GIF of the Premier League scoreboard announcing an yellow card for MacPhee

Fans were all in for supporting such shithousery but also called out it as a “red card offence”. They also noticed on how Caicedo was about to rocket the ball against him after the move.
