Chelsea fans are absolutely loving Marco Reus for his recent comments on Eden Hazard

Marco Reus has a lot of admirers in the footballing world; be it fans that adore his style of play or his smashing good looks, or clubs keeping an eye on the creative force behind Borussia Dortmund’s title charge this season. It’s no secret that Reus is a widely sought-after talent.

So while most football fans were on the internet going about their day, little did Chelsea fans expect to hear anything said about their talismanic winger Hazard when Vuj and Timbsy from the popular YouTube channel Copa90 caught up with the BVB duo of Reus and Witsel for a “FIFA and Chill” video, let alone a word of praise and admiration from the pacey German.

When asked about who is the best player that Reus and Witsel have played with individually, Reus took his time to answer the question and after a lot of thought, showered praise on Mesut Ozil.  And when Witsel was about to provide his answer, Reus was quick to butt-in and say “It’s only one player”. Witsel concurred, saying, “Yeah, Eden Hazard”.

The clip of this section of the interview went viral among Chelsea fans, who have always been speaking highly of the quick-footed Belgian since his arrival in 2012.

Whilst most of the clip consists of Reus talking highly of Ozil and what he brings to Arsenal, that brief moment where he praised Hazard stole the spotlight for Chelsea and Belgian football fans alike.

The respect that Marco has for Hazard is tangible. Not many would disagree on that stand, as Chelsea’s number 10 is now at the top of the shopping list of long-time suitors, Real Madrid.

For Witsel to choose his compatriot as one of the best players to have played alongside him for Belgium has to be humbling. Especially considering the bag loads of talent that the Red Devils possess.

Kevin de Bruyne. Romelu Lukaku. Mertens. Courtois. Big names. Big players.

And that’s exactly what Hazard is, a big game player. His stats against the top six are phenomenal, and Marco Reus approves.

Hazard’s stats for this season are brilliant, having appeared 30 times in the league, scoring 13 and assisting 11. Critics fear that we are yet to see the best of Hazard, who is at the prime of his career. Will the Belgian make the switch to Spain during the summer? Only time will tell. But we can be sure of one thing: he will always have a fan in Marco Reus (and Axel Witsel, of course).
