Liverpool centre-back Virgil van Dijk has truly cemented himself as one of the world’s best defender currently with his heroics last season.

A towering presence at the back, he has really made a difference to this Liverpool side.

The Reds finished an exciting season as league runners-up with an incredible 97 points and were crowned the UEFA Champions League winners after an amazing campaign.

Individually, Van Dijk was awarded a place in the PFA Team of the Year, won the PFA Player of the Year accolade as well as the man of the match award in the final of the UEFA Champions League.

With another 4 years on his contract and no intention to leave, Liverpool fans will cherish these years with Van Dijk. A player of absolute class and humility who empowers his team to grow. A true leader!
