Hakim Ziyech’s pass steals limelight as Timo Werner scores less than 4 minutes into his Chelsea debut

Chelsea fans have been waiting patiently to watch Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner create magic for the Blues.

And it didn’t take the ‘wizard of Amsterdam’ long as Ziyech bamboozled all and sundry with a delightful pass inside the 4 minutes of his Chelsea debut.

Chelsea took on Brighton and Hove Albion in their first pre-season friendly with Frank Lampard giving a debut run-out to his new signings.

It only took four short minutes for the former RB Leipzig talisman to get his first goal in Chelsea blue as he tapped in a simple chance headed down by Callum Hudson-Odoi after a wonderful delivery by Ziyech from the right flank.

Although the assist officially went to Hudson-Odoi, Ziyech was the true star of this stunning passage of play that led to a simple, but amazing goal.

The first goal of Chelsea’s campaign is a statement. A message to the rest of the league, that the Blues are hungry for glory this season.

The patience of the Chelsea fans has been rewarded in stunning fashion by the newly-recruited duo, and if this is a sign of things to come from the Blues going forward, then they seem like genuine title contenders in the upcoming campaign.
