Just when you thought you’d seen every kind of sensational banger there is in football, in comes this absolutely gobsmacking goal from Denmark.

Nicolai Geertsen of Danish Superliga side Lyngby Boldklub has arguably scored the best goal you will see all season as he struck a flying volley after his own bicycle kick goal had hit the bar.

The moment came during Lyngby Boldklub’s 9-0 win in the Danish Cup match against Slagelse B&I yesterday.

Founded in 1921, Lyngby Boldklub are based in Kongens Lyngby, Lyngby-Tarbæk Municipality, a northern suburb of Copenhagen.

The club are not having the best of times in the Superliga as they find themselves in the 11th position in a 12-team league.
