Belgium concede comical own goal after Thibaut Courtois cocks up a back pass against Denmark

Courtois gaffe leads to a Nacer Chadli own goal during Belgium v Denmark

Budding footballers are always advised to never play a pass to the goalkeeper directly in front of the goal, but this is still poor from Courtois.

The Real Madrid goalie endured a horror moment during Belgium’s 4-2 win against Denmark in the Nations League encounter last night.

Courtois’ moment of madness was the only blemish in what was another brilliant display from Roberto Martinez’s side.

The incident happened in the 86th minute when Belgium were leading the game 3-1.

An equally bad back pass from Nacer Chadli took a turn for the worse when Courtois let his eyes off the ball at the crucial moment and let the ball run through his feet for an embarrassing own goal.

The Belgium custodian could thank Kevin De Bruyne for saving him the blushes somewhat as the Manchester City star scored a goal just a few seconds later.
