Photo – Eden Hazard goes completely bald whilst in quarantine

As we near the end of another week under quarantine, football has been a massive miss amongst the football fans. Meanwhile, the players are left wondering how to fill the void left by the halt in their usual routine of training and match days.

An ongoing trend, however, has surfaced among players, with several major footballing personalities including Premier League stars Anthony Martial, Paul Pogba and Spurs defender Jan Vertonghen opting to go for a highly trimmed look.

Today, former Chelsea star Eden Hazard joined the trend as the Belgian was snapped with a completely shaven head.

Although the look might feel a bit unorthodox to the eye, some suspect that the trimmed look might be more of a precaution rather than a fashion statement.

It is being inferred that going bald might help reduce the transmission of the novel coronavirus.

Since his move to the Los Blancos, Eden Hazard has struggled to find the form he was famous for back in his Chelsea days, which, for the most part, comes down to his nagging injury problems.

As football fans, we’d wish to see the player return to his magical form again, preferably in his usual look when football returns to normalcy.

(Photo) The insane speed Luka Modric notched up before scoring Real Madrid’s 3rd goal against Getafe

Real Madrid made a good start to the new year with a solid 3-0 win over Getafe to briefly climb to the top spot in La Liga ahead of Barcelona yesterday.

While the Catalans managed to regain the pole position with a draw later on, Zidane should still be impressed by the robust performance put in by his side.

While Thibaut Courtois earned most of the plaudits with a stellar performance between the sticks, fans did well not to miss out on the crazy speed Luca Modric notched up during the away fixture.

At 34-years of age the Croatian isn’t exactly considered a young man anymore but he seemed to turn back the clock with an insanely fast run during a Real counter and was clocked at a whooping 33.3 Km/h during the passage of play which led to his goal in the 96th minute.

Fans were quick to notice the midfielder’s pacy run during a post-match analysis and seemed to love the fact that the veteran is still being clocked at speeds that even many youngsters struggle to match.

Ecstatic Luka Modric seen rushing to the sidelines and hug Marcelo after splendid goal

Real Madrid showed signs of confidence that had become synonymous with Zidane’s first tenure as the Vikings managed to trump high-flying Real Sociedad 3-1 in a clinical home display on Sunday.

Perhaps the most significant aspect of the performance was Luka Modric’s return to form as the Croatian midfielder played a role in all the three goals Real Madrid scored at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Modric set up the first two on either side of the break, before scoring a world class volley himself.

Yet, it was Modric’s celebration that arguably managed to garner the most attention.

The 34-year-old was seen heading over to the sidelines with a big smile and shared a warm embrace with Marcelo, who had been left on the bench for the game.

Zidane seems to have breathed new life into the Los Blancos, with the chemistry among his old guard evident to all.

The two players have often proved to be instrumental on the pitch and would need to be at their best with important fixtures coming up against PSG and Barcelona.

Vinicius was the first to congratulate Rodrygo on his hat-trick in the dressing room after Real Madrid beat Galatasaray

The inborn flair that comes naturally with Brazilians has often seen clubs in the past pay surprisingly large amounts of fee for teenagers who are yet to prove themselves on the big stage and Real Madrid’s case is no different.

Having signed 17-year-old Rodrygo for 45 million Euros making him the third most expensive teenager at the time, the expectations from him were surreal when he arrived at the beginning of the season in Madrid after having spent an additional year with Santos on loan.

However, the Samba boy soon impressed the Santiago Bernabeu faithful in pre-season. It didn’t take him long to win the trust of their talismanic manager Zinedine Zidane and was handed a La Liga debut in the last week of September against Osasuna.

He soon made his first European appearance against Galatasaray away from home in October and just 8 days later, scored his first goal for the Los Blancos in the league.

However, it was his performance midweek that grabbed the most headlines.

With Gareth Bale not in the squad, he was given another chance to start the match and came out with flying colours.

Two goals in the opening ten minutes were followed by an assist in the dying moments of the first half, before he capped off his hat-trick in injury time.

Not only did he become the second youngest after Raul to have scored a Champions League triplet, he was named the competition’s player of the week and announced himself to the world in remarkable fashion.

His teammates were evidently ecstatic for the prodigy amidst them, but none so much as compatriot and fellow teenager Vinicius Junior.

The two have had similar stories uptil joining the Vikings and the 19-year-old was the first to congratulate his Seleção youth teammate.

As the man of the moment entered the dressing room with the customary match ball, the two shared a fancy handshake before hugging each other, with Vinicius’ grin on full display.

While the Brazilian duo has constantly been pitted against each other by the Spanish media, Los Blancos fans would be hoping to see the partnership between the pair thriving both on and off the pitch for years to come.

Controversial decision to deny Real Madrid a penalty has VAR under fire yet again

Real Madrid had to satisfy themselves with a dry goalless draw at home against Real Betis on the weekend as their wobbly form witnessed so far in the season continues.

While the Los Blancos were the better side for major parts of the game, they were left lamenting a controversial VAR decision which might have robbed them of two crucial points. A win would have seen the Vikings catapult Barcelona to the top spot after the Blaugrana had lost 3-1 to Levante earlier in the evening.

The much talked about incident occurred in the 82nd minute amidst a late attacking surge by the Royal Whites.

Caught on the counter attack, the Betis defence saw Eden Hazard threading a neat through ball from near the half line to a rampant Karim Benzema. The in-form striker caught up with the ball on the left edge of the 12-yard box and fired in a low cross.

Betis defender Feddal slid in just ahead of him in an attempt to block the final ball, only to have the ball striking his arm as he fell. The ball thereon safely reached the goalkeeper’s glove, but had the intervention not taken place it looked certain to end up dangerously in the six yard box. Skipper Sergio Ramos was there waiting to pounce on the same and seal a first victory for the hosts in three years against the Verdiblancos at the Santiago Bernabéu.

The referee was quick to consult the Video Assistant Referee team who after an extended check, gave the decision in the visitors’ favour.

The judgement had the Bernabéu faithful roaring in disapproval, as the Betis defence held on tightly to secure a point away from home.

While the debate will continue for a while it seems, it won’t change the fact that Real Madrid could only conjure a point against a rigid defensive structure despite having a much superior game.

As things stand, they are tied at the top of the table with arch rivals Barcelona on points, with the Catalonians placed above them due to a better goal difference.

Marcelo makes ’emoji-styled gesture’ after Dani Carvajal puts in a lovely cross against Leganes

Marcelo Vieira in his typically animated style indicated and appreciated the quality of a cross made by his teammate Dani Carvajal as Real Madrid thrashed Leganes 5-0 on Wednesday.

Los Blancos’ trusted right-back Carvajal curved an absolute beauty inside the Leganes box. The venomous cross was desperately searching for a header and Luka Jovic obliged to make the score 5-0.

With this goal, the Serbian forward finally ended his Real Madrid duck after 479 long minutes.

Marcelo, who himself is an excellent crosser, immediately realized the quality of the ball and conveyed his spontaneous appreciation (see below) in an emoji-styled gesture.

The 27-year old Spanish workhorse is having a good season as he has already amassed 4 assists in 7 league appearances.

Earlier in the game, Real Madrid did not find any difficulty in finding the back of the net as Rodrygo scored in the 7th minute.

Toni Kroos doubled the lead in the next 60 seconds. Both the assists were provided by Karim Benzema.

Training footage of new boy Takefusa Kubo goes viral among Real Madrid fans

Real Madrid players reported to Montreal for their pre-season training last week. All the new signings were present on the first day, including the Japanese teenage sensation, Takefusa Kubo. The 18-year-old was signed this summer from FC Tokyo for £1.78m (€2m).

If the reports emerging from the first five days of the pre-season training are to be believed, the coaches have been really impressed by the Japanese. His nifty footwork and ball control have awed his teammates and the coaching staff alike.

However, the thing that has caught the most attention is the ease with which he has slotted into the team. There are quite a few videos of him from the training sessions that have been doing the rounds on social media.

Fans have been amazed by the skills that have been on display. His link-up play with the senior players and the ease with which he has glided past defenders have been a joy to watch for the Madridistas.

His style of play reminds them of a particular Argentine who has tormented this Real side for more than 10 years now. They don’t call him Japanese Messi for no reason.

Kubo will be playing this season for the Real Madrid B team, also known as Castilla. Although considering the way he has been playing, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him don the royal white at the Bernabeu come next season.

Check out the video of Kubo in training that Real Madrid fans are absolutely loving at the moment –

Kylian Mbappe savages Twitter account for spreading false info amid Real Madrid rumors

Well done Mbappe!

A Twitter account crossed the limit by spreading false rumors about the demands the Frenchman made to the Paris Saint-Germain hierarchy.

The tweet revealed that Mbappe’s representative’s had made the following demands –

  • He must be guaranteed to play up front rather than out wide –
  • He must take all penalties when he’s playing
  • He must own a far greater % of his image rights if he remains at the club

The PSG striker, who had just helped France accomplish a 4-0 win against Andorra, took to the micro-blogging platform and absolutely destroyed the said Twitter account with a delicious reply.

The savagery on Twitter took place after Mbappe showed no interest in answering any questions about the growing rumors linking him to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

After France’s 4-0 Euro 2020 qualifying win against Andorra, a frustrated Mbappe shrugged off when asked a question about his future.

“Now is not the time to talk about Real Madrid. You always ask me the same thing, but it’s not the time.”

Before things went down on Twitter, Kylian Mbappe achieved a massive milestone by scoring his 100th professional goal with his 11th minute strike against Andorra

Old photo of Eden Hazard donning a Zidane shirt surfaces online after Real Madrid move

Real Madrid signing Eden Hazard in the ongoing summer transfer window is the talk of the football town. It is one of the biggest signings for the Los Blancos since the departure of their hero, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Departure of CR7

Real Madrid were in desperate need to replace Cristiano after the Portuguese signed for Italian champions Juventus.

The Los Blancos suffered one of their worst seasons in recent history as they were unable to grab any major trophies with Lopetegui at the helm for the majority of the season.

The club, famed for their performance in the Champions League, got kicked out of it in the R16 at the hands of Ajax, losing on an aggregate scoreline of 5-3.

The formidable Spanish giants, were humiliated at their own home ground where they lost 4-1 to the Dutch champions.

The Return of Zidane

With a string of mishaps in every competition, the club officials decided to sign Zinedine Zidane as the head coach yet again.

With the end of the 2018-19 season, the Frenchman wasted no time to sign Eden Hazard from Chelsea. The news was in the air for quite some time. But was officially announced after Chelsea won the Europa League.

Hazard’s Summer Transfer

The Belgian captain since then has taken to the internet to announce his delight at joining his dream club.

A childhood picture of Eden & his brothers recently surfaced online & immediately went viral. It portrays them wearing a 1998 Zidane France World Cup shirt.

The 7 year old Hazard was quick to identify his idol. If only then somebody could whisper to young Eden what the future has in store for him.

The Twitterati are gushing over this cute picture. Some are calling it destiny & yet others are questioning Hazard’s support for France instead of Belgium.

A Dream Come True

Today this man has earned the opportunity to be coached by his idol at one of the most prestigious clubs in the world. One can only imagine his euphoria at this sudden turn in his already successful career.

On top of that, word’s been traveling that the Belgian would be given the club’s most important jersey number: 7. Now that sure is something to take pride in. As much as Eden is excited to join the Los Blancos, the club too is desperate for an immediate turnaround.

The absurd amount of money Paul Pogba and his agent are charging Real Madrid for a summer transfer

Real Madrid, having had Zinedine Zidane reinstated, have continuously been linked with Paul Pogba, who has had his Manchester United future cast in doubt for quite some time now.

As the end of the season approaches, things are starting to heat up on the transfer rumors front with Manchester United star Paul Pogba being consistently linked with a move away to Real Madrid.

Despite often being ranked as one of the most talented midfielders of his generation, Pogba has frequently been questioned on his work ethic, leadership ability, and impact on the pitch.

United bought back the talismanic Frenchman for a then record 102 million euro fee from Juventus, looking to make him the centerpiece in the squad.

But ever since the move, he seemingly hasn’t quite lived up to his immense potential, often earning the frustration and ire of the United faithful.

However, Zidane is a longtime admirer of the Frenchman, and when asked about a supposed move, had said, “He has always said that, after Manchester, Madrid has always interested him. So when his experience at Manchester ends, why not come here to Madrid?”

According to Spanish online newspaper Libertad Digital, the transfer is quite unlikely to happen.

Madrid are expected to table a bid of at least 150 million euros for United to even consider selling, and Mino Raiola, Pogba’s agent, has demanded 20 million euros in agent fees in event of the deal going through.

On top of that, the midfielder’s wage demands are quite high at 17 million euros a year, with the Madrid hierarchy doubting if he’s worth it.

Not just the Frenchman, Chelsea star Eden Hazard has also been strongly linked to join the Spanish club at the end of the season. It has been all but taken for granted in the Madrid camp, with captain Sergio Ramos already following Hazard on social media.

In the case of the United midfielder however, it is not yet clear what direction Madrid is willing to take despite Zidane’s interest.

Sergio Ramos following Eden Hazard has lit up the transfer speculation surrounding the Belgian

Back when Eden Hazard was lighting things up at Lille, he was a much sought after talent. Ever since his arrival at Chelsea in 2012, he has continued to excite and deliver; earning an outstanding reputation for himself.

The pacey left winger who can also operate as an attacking midfielder or a false 9, is one of the most creative players in the league. In a season laden with 26 goal contributions in the top flight, 14 of them being goals, it’s easy to see why Hazard is still a player whose signature is pursued persistently.

With the Chelsea number 10 approaching the peak of his career, the transfer saga surrounding the Belgian superstar is picking up speed.

While only a handful of clubs can afford the huge price-tag that comes with Hazard, there seems to be only one club in contention to sign him – Real Madrid.

The Spanish giants have been linked with the Chelsea man for quite a while now, with only rumors floating around. But the speculation appears to have gone into overdrive, with Sky Sports reporting today that the Spanish giants are ‘increasingly confident’ of signing the Belgian.

The propaganda from Real Madrid seems to have well & truly begun as it appears that Sergio Ramos has recently started following Eden Hazard on Twitter.

With speculation floating around strongly suggesting that Hazard will be in Madrid white next season, the emergence of Ramos’ activity looks to have added fuel to the fire.

And while this could just be bad timing and a coincidence, it must be noted that nothing is confirmed until it actually is confirmed. And for the numerous Blues’ fans who idolize their star player, the fact that it is just transfer speculation is their only solace.

With Zinedine Zidane at the helm (again) for Los Blancos, Hazard has an opportunity to learn from and play under the tutelage of his footballing hero. Will he make the move to Madrid in the summer?
