If Barcelona fans thought that their week could not get any worse after crashing out of the UEFA Champions League on aggregate against Paris Saint Germain, they were in for a surprise when the Barcelona home kit for the 2021/2022 season was leaked on Twitter.

After losing the first leg in a 4-1 loss in embarrassing fashion at the Nou Camp, Barcelona drew the second leg at the Parc des Princes last night as a Leo Messi stunner cancelled out Kylian Mbappe’s goal from the spot in the first half, as Barcelona slumped to a 2-5 loss on aggregate.

If their performances against Paris Saint-Germain over both legs were found to be lacking any creativity and shape, the Nike designers did one better with the home kit that they have designed for the Spanish giants.

The home kit for the next season is to be precise, a geometrical disasterclass. The 2021/2022 Barcelona home kit features the famous colours of Blaugrana that the historical club has donned ever since its inception in 1905, but instead of the usual stripes one associates with Barcelona – the kit features the red and blue stripes aligned in an unconventional way which has not really provided an aesthetic appeal to the Barcelona fans on Twitter.

The designers of the kit for sportswear heavyweights Nike are likely to have been inspired by the stripes emblazoned in the club’s crest, as the kit follows the exact patterns as featured in the Catalan outfit’s famous crest.

Despite the idea being a decent one, the Blaugrana faithful will not be happy with the execution of it – as the home kit looks like the designer failed by a large margin in geometry class.
