Twitter reacts as Daniel Sturridge turns search for barber into soap opera

Ex-Liverpool man Daniel Sturridge has signed up for the A-league outfit Perth Glory as he looks to breathe life into his injury-stricken career.

Having undergone a slumberous quarantine, the centre-forward put forth a request for a haircut on his Instagram handle, as he gears up to join his new squad. But the sheer volume of demands featuring in the story has the fans in splits.

As it turns out, the 32-year-old is quite the diva when it comes to his hair. Prospective professionals would have to go through a detailed application process and only those with a very specific skill set may get picked.

Amongst the lengthy list of demands, were those of “crispy clean” vibes with a straight hairline, no shaky hands, top-level craftsmanship and to top it off, prior experience of working on similar haircuts as Sturridge’s.

Having gone through a few portfolios, the seemingly disgruntled Englishman took to social media yet again, to express his disapproval over the received applications. He called out for stylists who knew their way around Afros and had previously worked with Black people.

He was unambiguous in establishing that he cannot risk ending up as ‘Ye’, and will settle for nothing short of a prim and proper hairdo.

Twitterverse, impressed by the forward’s attention to detail but taken aback by his drama, came up with jocular replies to the story:

It’s apparent that pleasing Sturridge won’t be simple but a rather nervy affair for whoever manages to land the project.
