Thomas Tuchel sweating through his puffer jacket was an unusual sight

A pulsating encounter at Stamford Bridge saw Chelsea share the spoils with Liverpool after either side failed to break the deadlock at 2-2.

With both the teams looking to regain lost ground in the race to the title, a win was paramount, and thus ensued a riveting clash that will go down as an instant Premier League classic.

Liverpool took the early lead through Sadio Mane and then scored another via Mo Salah almost at the half-hour mark. Chelsea were quick to respond, scoring two goals of their own within five minutes to level just before the half.

The second half unfolded in more or less a similar fashion as the game moved back and forth, albeit without a score. The stress and tension brought about by such a high-intensity game was perfectly captured on camera with Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel in the frame.

The picture in question shows Tuchel with his hands raised while shouting out instructions from the sideline, and what’s noticeable is his underarm which is wet with profuse sweating, despite him wearing his customary puffer jacket from Nike.

Throughout most part of the game, the Chelsea boss was a lively figure, moving about the sideline and making impassioned pleas to his players, and therefore his breaking out in sweat comes as no surprise.

But then again, considering the freezing cold weather on the night, with temperatures around London generally susceptible to fluctuate between only 2°C and 10°C in January, Tuchel’s sweat marks were not entirely normal either.

Regardless, the image has even found takers online, with one fan suggesting it summed up the intensity of the game like no other.

A draw on the night entailed a further lead for Manchester City in the title race, with Liverpool and Chelsea both 11 and 10 points behind the league leaders respectively.
