The NBA x Football crossovers continue and are fairly common as of late.
The latest one features the Big Dutchman Virgil van Dijk and Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler.
The latter has recently started following the beautiful game and looks to be taking an interest in the Merseyside Reds especially.
Last Friday, he took to his Instagram to laud Liverpool forward Sadio Mane and highlighted his AFCON achievements. On this occasion, he put Big Virg in the spotlight.
The power forward posted on Instagram and shouted out Van Dijk.
An image accompanied the post, one which features a list of all of Van Dijk’s career achievements.
Alongside the image was a compilation of the Dutch international getting the better of many revered opponents. The video showcased Van Dijk’s encounters against the likes of Ronaldo, Willian, N’Golo Kante etc.
It also featured a caption – ‘if you know you know, shoutout to my dawg (Van Dijk)’. He ended the caption by declaring Big Virg as legendary and also added #futbolfriday.
His previous football-related post, which celebrated Sadio Mane, was also captioned with the same hashtag. The coincidence indicates that perhaps Butler plans on making a series of these posts. And for his next one, Liverpool talisman Mo Salah is certainly a worthy candidate.
