Liverpool Twitter reacts to clash between Nathaniel Clyne and Jack Grealish

Last night, a resilient Crystal Palace side kept out league leaders Manchester City, for the second time this season, at Selhurst Park. Patrick Viera’s side were defiant in their approach and frustrated City.

The Manchester Blues had the lion’s share of possession as they usually do, but failed to capitalize on any opportunities they created.

Their irritation grew as time went on, but eventually, the game ended up being a 0-0 draw. Credit for Palace’s display goes to everyone involved, but one man, in particular, received plenty of plaudits online.

The player in question is Nathaniel Clyne, the ex-Liverpool fullback came up against Jack Grealish on multiple occasions but remained defensively astute.

In added time, emotions boiled over and Grealish clashed with his opposite number. The altercation didn’t end there as Clyne reportedly riled up the English international after full time, and words continued to be exchanged.

The draw Clyne and Palace fought so hard for leads to an opening for his former side, as Liverpool will now have the opportunity to further cut City’s lead at the top.

Naturally, many Liverpool fans online lauded the ex-Red, and some of the takes were simply hilarious.

While the 30-year-old is certainly a Palace man now, the incident confirmed that he will always have a fair share of admirers from his former club, and for them, he will remain ‘always a Red’.
