Mykhaylo Mudryk: Why The 90-Rated FIFA Card Isn’t As Incredible As It Seems

Mykhaylo Mudryk: Why The 90-Rated FIFA Card Isn’t As Incredible As It Seems

Mykhaylo Mudryk’s incredible transfer to Chelsea was certainly one of the stories of the winter transfer window, as the Blues managed to beat out Arsenal for the talented Ukrainian’s signature.

Since completing his £89m transfer, the 22-year-old has gone on to make 2 appearances in Blue.

His debut came at Anfield in a cameo against Liverpool and the young forward made an instant impression, generating plenty of excitement for his full-league debut.

Mudryk’s first Chelsea start came in the subsequent fixture against Fulham, although it was cut short after he was subbed off in the 45th minute due to illness.

Blues fans are yet to get a proper look at their young forward’s capabilities, and as a result, they’re making do with any Mudryk-related content in the meantime.

Be it his Instagram activity or official training clips posted by the club’s socials, the Chelsea support have been lapping it all up.

His most recent Instagram upload even led to a bit of puzzlement among fans, as it featured Mudryk posing alongside his FIFA 23 card with the statistics massively bumped up.

As seen in the image, the Ukrainian is holding a specialized card with elaborate graphics present in the background, and his overall rating is a whopping 90.

The other attributes are just as surprising, with his pace being a rampant 94, dribbling sitting at 90, and shooting being a solid 86.

The other figures include 87 for passing, 70 for physical and 50 for defense.

In summary, the card is an incredible boost over the vanilla version that is being used by most Ultimate Team players.

For comparison, Mudryk’s base card has an overall of just 74, with the other attributes also being similarly low.

Naturally, fans were surprised to see him holding such an amped-up version of his card, and some even began to believe that the 22-year-old might be in line for a massive upgrade.

But sadly, that is far from the case.

With the aim of generating more revenue through pack openings and FIFA points purchases, game developers EA release tons of specialized cards to attract FUT players.

Among the slew of releases is one titled ‘Future stars’, a collection which places the limelight on the brightest young Footballers in the world.

The players selected to be a part of this receive modified cards with stats and attributes that reflect their potential, and essentially showcase exactly how good they are tipped to become.

FIFA 23’s 1st Future Stars’ squad landed last Friday, and it features the likes of Julian Alvarez, Gavi, Karim Adeyemi, Josko Gvardiol, and of course Mykhaylo Mudryk.

So while Blues fans can’t brag about having a 90-rated monster in their team just yet, they can certainly find solace in the fact that Mudryk’s potential is off the charts.

Nevertheless, the special card by itself is still pretty impressive, and the best way to obtain it for your Ultimate Team is through Promo Packs or Token Swaps.
