England are fully prepared for next year’s Euros, going into the tournament as one of the favourites. England’s team is currently on cloud nine as they have a have a solid team with players like Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, Bukayo Saka, all performing exceptionally on both club and national level. Many critics and pundits have high hopes for this team and under manager, Gareth Southgate.
However, Nike’s marketing department doesn’t have the same strong defense as solid as England’s team as the new home kit designs for England’s national team got leaked the other day. Nike has been sponsoring and providing kits and supplies for the national team since 2013. The general reception to Nike and their products has been very divisive.
But Nike can relax this time as fans have welcomed this new simplistic, retro style home kit that has resemblances to the 80s and 90s kit of Mexico and Italy. Some fans pointed out how similar design is to the US Men’s national team kit. Most fans were happy about the new kit, while some have called it bland and boring. This has been an active criticism of all previous Nike kits for its lack of creativity and sticking to the same template time and time again.
Some fans sympathized that having white oriented kit is always difficult as there are several other teams with similar white kits including, Tottenham Hotspurs, US Men’s national team. It’s difficult to stand out because of that.
What almost all fans agree on is how bad the current home kit looks like.
