In recent years, the integration of promotional campaigns through sponsored football jerseys has become a trend. Spotify has a contract with F.C. Barcelona that features logos of popular music artists from the streaming platform on their home shirts during important matches.
Atletico Madrid had a similar deal with their sponsor Colombia Pictures back in 2003/04. Recently, Inter Milan has been added to that list as well.
Inter Milan has recently signed a 2-year sponsorship agreement with the US-based streaming service Paramount+. Paramount+’s logo has been regularly displayed as the primary kit sponsor on Inter’s shirts during their games.
But this time, Inter Milan and Paramount+ have teamed up to introduce something new. Inter Milan has unveiled a new sponsor logo on the front of their jerseys for their upcoming match and it is really cool.
Inter announced on Wednesday, that the logo of Paramount+ will be replaced by that of a Transformer logo on the front of their shirt. They unveiled their new kit featuring the usual blue and black stripes with the new white-coloured front logo depicting an Autobot from the Transformers movie franchise.
The Nerazzurris are set to adorn their new kit against Udinese at the San Siro on Saturday, December 9. Their women’s team will feature a similar kit against Sampdoria that same day at the Arena Civica.
The logo will be featured as a part of their promotional strategy for the upcoming film ‘Transformers One,’ scheduled for release next year. It also aims to celebrate the debut of the new movie ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’ on the streaming platform where it joins the franchise’s other six films and the animated series.
Reports also suggest that two characters from the movie will appear on the sidelines during both the men’s and women’s games. Although Inter’s announcement didn’t explicitly name the characters, promotional images featuring Bumblebee and Optimus Prime hinted at their possible involvement.
The shirt will also be part of an even more important cause. Paramount+ and Inter will donate some of the jerseys to children admitted to pediatric wards across various hospitals in Milan. Moreover, fans will be able to participate in an auction on eBay to get hold of match-worn shirts of the Inter players. All of the money from the auction will be donated to charity.
The Transformers logo is a one-time feature on Inter’s shirt. However, fans can get hold of these limited edition shirts in the Galleria Passarella and San Siro Inter Stores. They are also available to buy on Inter’s online store and costs around 95 EUR.
Inter Milan are the current Seria A league leaders owing to some excellent performances from the team. On Sunday, Inzaghi would hope that his team not only just displays the Transformer as a logo on their shirt, but also plays like one against Udinese.
