Did You Notice? Alexia Putellas and Alex Scott Were Total Vibes on CBS Sports

The name Alexia Putellas needs no introduction.

Two-time Ballon d’Or winner, twice UCL winner with Barcelona, World Cup winner with Spain, The Best FIFA Football Awards winner, La Liga F champion, the list of her individual as well as team achievements goes on and on.

In person, the player is as humble as they come and a pleasure to talk to. No wonder that she was an esteemed guest at CBS Sports Network yesterday to help pick out the EA Sports FC 24 Team of the Year.

The show was about kicking off voting for this year’s EA FC24 Team of the Year, the biggest promotion event by EA Sports for its football-oriented game.

A panel, consisting of Jamie Carragher, Alex Scott, and Micah Richards, alongside host Kate Abdo, opened the session for CBS.

Alex Scott, the player-turned sports commentator and pundit, teamed up with Micah to present ‘Team Gold’ for the men’s Team of the Year (TOTY) during the show.

Although the final cards in game are decided through fan votes only, the show was about taking some expert opinions from the experienced cast to help narrow down the choices.

For the Women’s team choices, the network had invited Alexia Putellas to pair up with Alex Scott, and their partnership turned into a vibe.

Alex, who played for Arsenal Women’s squad, also has UCL and Premier League-like titles under her belt. The two trophy-laden ladies expressed their admiration for each other and hit it off from the get-go.

Alex began by asking Alexia about how she felt about the EA game now that it is a reality for her young fans to play, with her as a character in the game. Humbly, Alexia replied that it feels like magic to her.

Moving on to picking the expert choice TOTY, Alex was seen looking for approval from the Spanish superwoman.

Alexia was full of compliments for all the players selected, especially her teammate and recent Ballon d’Or winner Aitana Bonmati. Meanwhile, Alex chimed in to add that there is no way that they won’t have Alexia on this team.

Alex even went on to add that she had built the team around Alexia as the centerpiece, and in a blushing reply, Alexia said, “Oh, Thank you.”

The back-and-forth fun continued with her asking Alexia, how to pronounce some Spanish names like Ona Batlle. Alexia helped her out while jokingly saying English defender Lucy Bronze’s name, teasing Alex’s English bias.

Towards the end of the show, the Spanish powerhouse couldn’t resist mentioning how much she loved seeing the Arsenal full-back off the field.

She mentioned that the player was a menace to play against so it is nice that they are meeting off the field this time.
