Manchester United have arguably nailed their kit game in the 2024/25 season by unveiling some beautiful attires for their players and fans to wear.
After roping in Snapdragon as their new shirt sponsor, the Red Devils unveiled an aesthetically pleasing home kit and a pretty nice blue away attire too.
They wore their third kit for the first time in the Premier League this season in the recent 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace. That white attire with the club’s red and black colors has been a hit among the fans too, selling like hot cake.
Despite there being a wide range of authentic Manchester United attire to buy this season, it looks like certain retailers have come up with their own design to attract the not-so knowledgeable fans.
There is a pretty prominent market of fake kits that are sold all over the globe to supporters who are attracted by the design rather than the authenticity.
Perhaps the worst fake kit that is available on the market right now in certain countries is a green Manchester United kit with the words ‘You Never Walk Alone’ and the Liverpool bird logo inscribed into the front.
There is a United logo on the left, but the bizarre design and the mantra of the Red Devils’ biggest rivals makes this a hilariously bad combination for a kit. There is also a weird manufactor logo on the kit and the ‘Chevrolet’ logo, even though the company stopped sponsoring the club in 2021. This kit is reportedly up for sale in Vietnam in some not-so-official stores.
Recently, another completely fake and bizarre Manchester United kit started going viral on social media that showed a very way of copying what is basically a redone version of their away kit from last season.
This fake Manchester United kit still has the TeamViewer logo (from the previous campaign) boldly in the middle.
It is a black and white striped kit with very thin red lines all over the front of the kit, which is basically a bad copy and slightly tweaked version of Man United’s dark green and white striped away kit from the 2023/24 season.
But what really helps this particular attire stand out to be completely fake is the club emblem added to it.
There is no Adidas logo on this (as it’s a fake), but the designers appear to have tweaked up the Red Devils’ club logo too.
Rather than ‘Manchester United’, the club has the words ‘Manchester Football’ written instead – with a logo of a hilariously badly drawn devil logo placed in the middle of those words.
To top it all off, there is also a cheeky ‘trademark’ sign in the logo from the designers to ‘protect’ the design.
The attire appears to be made by a seller named ‘World Sport’, which is probably a local, non-authorized party trying to make extra bucks by selling these fake t-shirts.
Some fans have revealed to have seen this design a few markets, mostly because this kind of merchandise are sold in markets or local stores rather than online.
What makes this kit even more astounding is that it apparently costs a whopping £15.
While that might seem cheap as compared to the Red Devils’ authentic original kit (£80), it’s still quite high considering that this is a knock-off version and a completely fake design.
Most fans find the ‘devil’ logo to be the funniest thing about this attire, as it looks nowhere near the actual design for the Manchester United kits.
This ‘devil’ logo has been compared to look more like a cat standing up rather than a devil. Some have even compared it to looking similar to the ‘Devil Robot’ character from the popular animated sci-fi/comedy series Futurama.
But these two attires isn’t the only knock-off version of the Red Devils’ kit available on the market. There seems to be an equally bad ones that are available. Another strange version of the ‘Chevrolet’ Manchester United kit is a customized version of their home kit.
This is made by the ‘World Sport’ brand and is basically a dark red kit with red and black stripes all over the front. But this particular kit has another hilariously bad club emblem, which only has the ‘Manchester’ word written in it and two lion-like creatures in the red, black and yellow logo design.
Apparently you can get this attire in Minorca, which is an island belonging to Spain. It’s also a prime tourist destination for many European people, and the retailer probably felt that this fake kit could be sold on a cheap to fans not so up-to-date with Manchester United.
A fake ‘retro’ version of Manchester United’s home kit from the AIG days has also been recently spotted in a store in Dublin, Ireland. This is similar to their kit from the 2006/07 season, as it’s a red attire with yellow stripes and the AIG logo quite visible in the middle.
But the club logo that is designed for this is absolutely bizarre, as it only has the words ‘football club’ written on it and two strange lion like creates in the middle. This kit is apparently available for just over £16 for those who like buying strange kits.
The interesting thing about this awful fake Manchester United kit is that it can’t be banned by Adidas or the club because it’s basically a custom design.
Even though it might come off as a hilariously bad knock-off version, some people are probably going to fit it impressive and make a nice profit for the manufacturer anyways.
