Double gameweek 24, the first of its kind in Fantasy Premier League 2024-25 is already underway with the possibility of gameweek 25 becoming another double gameweek. It has been a goal rush since the opening bell of another action-packed PL weekend and some of the budget picks are continuing to provide great value. Here is the curated list of the best budget options in the game at the moment.
Iliman Ndiaye(£5.5m)
Ndiaye saw a huge number of transfer-ins ahead of gameweek 24 as Everton had a double date in terms of fixtures. Ndiaye scored 15pts in the last two and attracted FPL scouts as a budget pick in the forward line. Still, he has an ownership of just 0.7%.
I brought him into my fantasy team just before the GW24 deadline and he had his name on the scoresheet against Leicester. The Senegal international also got 2 bonus points and despite having a tough game against table-toppers Liverpool, I expect him to add to his gameweek 24 points tally.
Everton has shown enough promise under David Moyes in the last couple of weeks and their resurgence looks to have strong support till GW29. Ndiaye is registered as a forward in the game but doesn’t always play the role of no.9. We saw Beto lead the line against Leicester and grab a brace.
However, the Senegalese attacker has six goals from an xG of only 3.6, highlighting his OP conversion rate. In the Moyes 2.0 regime at Everton, Ndiaye has emerged as a mainstay of their revamped attack.
Ethan Nwaneri(£4.5m)
Nwaneri was the one to track and we advised you to keep him under your FPL radar even when he bowed out with an injury last month. He is back and what a way to announce his return — 6pts in 6 minutes against City in front of the Emirates crowd. You would be amazed to know that the teenager bagged a goal from an xG of just 0.02.
Before humbling the Man City defence last night with his cameo appearance, Nwaneri also started the game against Wolves in GW23. Incidentally, his underlying numbers in the current fantasy season appear incredible — 3 goals in total from an cumulative xG of only 0.6.
With Gabriel Jesus out for the season due to a torn ACL and Bukayo Saka still on the sidelines nursing an injury, Ethan Nwaneri can be a great budget midfielder playing out of position while being more than an enabler. Remember, he also qualifies as a superb differential with just 0.5% ownership.
Neco Williams(£4.3m)
Nottingham Forest who are constantly reminding us of their good old European glory days, bounced back with a bang from their 0-5 thrashing at the hands of Bournemouth and bulldozed Brighton with a 7-0 margin. The Forest defence looks quite good this season and we suggested you to double up on its backline. Its last line of defence, Matz Sels is also providing great value and happens to be one of the best goalkeepers to own in 2025.
The ability to scout beyond the obvious is one of the important markers of fantasy excellence. And when we scan the Forest, Ola Aina, Milenkovic, and Murillo block our view. But there’s a mind-blowing budget asset in the form of Neco Williams.
Neco seems to be the cheapest route to Nuno’s defence and has now started the last ten games. He made a giant leap on the leaderboard with a staggering 12-pt haul in the ongoing gameweek 24, thanks to a goal and a clean sheet.
Notably, the Wales international found the target from an xG of 0.41 — something which calls for both admiration and attention. He has an ownership of just 1.5% and can be very dangerous on the run from the flanks.
