Is This Leeds United’s Third Kit for 25/26 Season? Mystery Shirt Appears Abroad

Football Kits, Leeds United

With an exciting return to the English top-flight for the 2025-26 season fast approaching, Leeds United supporters have been given glimpses of how the Whites might be dressed up on away days. On July 23, 2025, the X account @allleedsaway shared images of a potential third kit, spotted unexpectedly at a market in Turkey.

The leak coincides with the anticipated July/August 2025 release window outlined by Footy Headlines – an outlet with a history of predicting kit designs and launch dates to a relatively accurate degree.

The picture shows a predominantly black jersey, with the Leeds United crest, alongside the Adidas logo and Red Bull sponsor, all in yellow and gold accents. This colour scheme usually goes down well with fans, as it did with the Liverpool goalkeeper kit for their 2019-20 season when Alisson Becker wore it to glory of their long awaited maiden Premier league title.

The black design, obscure as it may have been in where it was discovered, seems to go along with Footy Headlines, which exclusively reported that the Leeds United 25-26 third kit would primarily be black with possible bright accent colors.

This echoes the success of the 22-23 third shirt, a black kit that resonated well with supporters. A YouTube short by the Leeds fan channel LeedsLately further supports these claims, hinting at yellow/gold trim that seems to mirror the Turkey sighting. This design goes on to also suggest the alternative “smiley” crest that made its debut in 1974, and was adopted on last year’s away shirt as well.

Moreover, the away shirt launch has already shown us that the front-of-the-shirt sponsors Red Bull are willing to adhere to the monochromatic gold/yellow theme, something sponsors are often in opposition to, with Newcastle United falling foul of this trend with their previous ‘Fun88’ sponsor.

Fan reactions on X have been mixed yet largely enthusiastic, primarily due to the way the home and away shirts have been received this year. Optimism is the word of the day. However, a note of caution emerges from a commenter who pointed out the outdated Adidas logo—featuring the word “adidas” beneath the three stripes—suggesting this could be a knockoff based on design rumours rather than an official prototype.

Notwithstanding, the black theme holds promise, drawing inspiration from recent Adidas designs that have been warmly received, such as the away kits paying homage to the 2001-03 UCL era at Elland Road. With promotion to the Premier League secured with a 100 points in the Championship last season under Daniel Farke, this kit will aptly debut on a stage fit for the hype around it.
