Florian Wirtz made headlines when he was announced as a Liverpool player for a gigantic fee of £116m, which was a British transfer record fee before his teammate Isak eclipsed that amount. He has had a very rough start to his career at the Merseyside outfit. He has been unable to register a single goal or assist in the Premier League so far.
His form with the German national team during the international break was also a subject of media scrutiny. After a disappointing performance in a loss to Slovakia, he was criticized by the German media.
However, he silenced some of his critics by scoring a stunning free kick in a subsequent win against Northern Ireland.
Despite his inconsistent start on the pitch for Liverpool, his commercial impact has been immediate and undeniable. And nowhere has this been more visually cemented than with the striking, massive billboard featuring the German playmaker.
The worst kept secret in football was finally out in the open earlier this year, as Adidas took over from Nike as Liverpool’s official kit partner.
The move was met with immense fan excitement, tapping into the Reds’ glorious past with the iconic “three stripes” brand. However, the partnership’s success has been catapulted into a new dimension by the arrival of Florian Wirtz who is an Adidas athlete himself.
Wirtz’s number 7 jersey has been the best-selling shirt since the kit launch, surpassing the sales of veteran player Mohamed Salah’s jersey.
This leads to the massive billboard featuring Wirtz which is situated at the iconic St Johns Beacon in Liverpool. It features the word SUPERSTAR situated above the German who is seen modeling an Adidas Originals trefoil tracksuit.

The billboard serves as a strong statement of intent from both the club and the sportswear giant, highlighting Wirtz’s status as a key figure in this new era for Liverpool.
This was well coincided with Liverpool launching their gorgeous 3rd kit that blends a Sea Green colour with cues from the classic kits of the 1990s.
The shirt features the return of the Adidas Originals Trefoil logo for the first time in over three decades on a Liverpool kit, alongside a vintage club crest from the 1987-1992 era. They also launched a beautiful Black goalkeeper kit with the same design.

You can purchase the tracksuit Wirtz is wearing on the billboard from the Adidas website for £65. The Track Pants are also available on the website for £55 and are customisable in various colours.
