How to Do a Low Driven Shot in EA Sports FC 26 (PS, Xbox, PC)

FC 26

The Low Driven Shot is one of the most effective and reliable ways to score in close range situations in FC 26, especially in one on one encounters with the goalkeeper even if your opponent moves the keeper. This technique executes a fast, powerful shot that stays low to the ground, making it extremely difficult for the keeper to save. The control scheme for the Low Driven Shot was updated in FC 26, replacing the previous game’s method.

The core mechanic for the Low Driven Shot in FC 26 is a quick double tap of the shoot button. This input was previously used for Timed Finishing, which has been removed and replaced by the Low Driven Shot.

PlayStationPower up shot, then tap againCircle > Circle
XboxPower up shot, then tap againB > B
PCPower up shot, then tap againShoot key > Shoot key

Press and hold the Shoot button to begin powering up your shot. The power bar will appear. Immediately after initiating the power up, press the Shoot button again. The second tap should be almost instantaneous after the first press/hold, before your player takes the shot. As you execute the shot, use the Left Analog Stick to aim the ball toward the bottom corners of the net. Ideally it is always better to go far post if you able to execute it properly.

The amount of power you apply with the first press/hold of the shoot button is what determines the shot’s power, speed, and accuracy. The second tap simply turns it into a low driven shot.

The low driven mechanic can be combined with other shot modifiers for advanced finishing techniques:

Shot TypePlayStation Input & Xbox InputUse Case
Low Driven FinesseR1 + Circle > Circle
RB + B > B
One on ones, especially coming in off the wing, to curl the shot low around the keeper.
Low Driven Power ShotL1 + R1 + Circle > Circle
LB + RB + B > B
When you have more space just inside the box and want maximum power and low trajectory.

The Low Driven Shot is best employed in specific scenarios:

Near Post or Far Post Aim, aiming for either of the bottom corners is the goal. The low, hard trajectory makes it challenging for the keeper to get down quickly enough. Inside the Penalty Box now this is where the shot is most effective due to the reduced distance and the powerful, low trajectory giving the goalkeeper minimal reaction time. When you’re facing the goalkeeper in a central or slightly angled position, the low driven shot is a great way to drill the ball past them.

The success and effectiveness of your low driven shot are also influenced by the attributes and PlayStyles of the player performing it. Players with high Finishing and Shot Power attributes will execute more accurate and powerful low driven shots. Players with the Low Driven Shot PlayStyle or the Enhanced Low Driven Shot playstyle + will have, significantly increased shot accuracy, faster ball travel speed and quicker shot execution animation. Players such as the Meta Claudia Pina, Haaland, Kane and Benzema have the Playstyle+.

Mastering this technique is not just about the buttons, it’s about timing, positioning, and execution under pressure. Whether you are drilling a basic low driven shot past a charging goalkeeper or executing a nuanced Low Driven Finesse to curl the ball around them, the common factor is the ball staying low and hard. This minimal lift robs the goalkeeper of the critical reaction time needed to make a comfortable save.

Dedicate time in the practice arena to integrate this technique into your muscle memory. Combined with players who possess the Low Driven Shot PlayStyle, this low to the ground power strike will be the key to converting those high pressure, one on one situations and unlocking a whole new level of goal scoring consistency in FC 26.
