The Secret to Running Faster in FC 26 That Most Players Don’t Know

FC 26

Achieving maximum speed in FC 26 isn’t just about using the sprint button, it involves a combination of specialized in game mechanics, player selection, and optimized settings. Whether you’re trying to break away on a counter attack or simply want your gameplay to feel more responsive, here is a guide to maximizing your players’ pace.

The most direct way to get a sudden burst of speed is by performing a Knock On. This move pushes the ball further into open space, allowing your player to accelerate beyond their normal sprinting speed to catch up to the ball. However it does take a little longer to turn to pass the ball.

Double tap R2 for PlayStation and RT for Xbox, this is the sprint button. Double tapping it will knock the ball into the direction you are running. You need to double tap the sprint button before the player touches the ball otherwise this will not work. This works best for players with Rapid and Quick Step playstyles such as Raphinha, Hemp, Nico Williams, Nuno Mendes, Adeyemi, Dembele and Mbappe can best utilise this feature. Alternatively you can flick the right analog stick in the direction of your run. This generally results in a heavier touch a bigger knock on and is best used when you have a lot of open space. Use the Knock on only when you have significant open space in front of you. A heavy touch near a defender will often lead to you losing possession.

While not a pure burst of speed, using the Controlled Sprint button R1 on PlayStation and RB on Xbox while dribbling allows your player to maintain pace while keeping the ball closer than a full sprint. This is ideal for quickly maneuvering into space without losing control. Combining this with a double tap sprint can help you transition into maximum pace.

Input delay and slow game speed can make your players feel sluggish, regardless of their Pace stat. Adjusting your game settings can significantly improve the feel of the gameplay. Try setting the Player and Stadium shadow visual options to Off. Shadows can sometimes introduce minor delays or visual clutter that makes the game feel slower. Adjusting the Ball Tracking Speed in your Camera Settings often increasing it to 10 or 20 can make the gameplay feel much faster. This works by making the camera follow the ball’s movement more aggressively, tricking the eye into perceiving a higher speed.

Maximizing your running speed in FC 26 boils down to a blend of player ability and execution of specific mechanics. By prioritizing players with high Pace and the Rapid PlayStyle, and mastering the Knock on, you can consistently create separation from defenders. Ultimately, the fastest way to travel the pitch is to recognize open space and use the controlled touch or the powerful double tap sprint to turn a simple run into a devastating sprint burst. Mastering these techniques is the key to elevating your offensive play and capitalizing on scoring opportunities.
