Barcelona’s new summer signing Roony Bardghji has lit up the Culers community with his celebration after the goal against Real Betis on Saturday.
After conceding early in the game within the first 10 minutes, Barcelona went on to score 4 goals in the first half with major damage done by Ferran Torres who scored a first half hatrick to put the visitors much ahead in the game.
Roony Bardghji also helped the scoreline in the 31st minute of the game with his first goal for the club since his arrival but what took the headlines after was his celebration that made the goal even more special.
Roony Bardghji did the “Chidori” technique from the popular anime Naruto. It is a technique with the lightning power associated with the main character Naruto’s teacher ‘Kakashi’.
Chidori is a lightning-style type of attack created by focusing incredible chakra into a piercing strike.
While it has been used by other characters, it became most synonymous with Sasuke Uchiha, who used and evolved the jutsu (technique, skill) over time, matching his rapidly growing abilities.
Chidori is a high-speed thrust which can shred the foe with great force. This can be brought into football context as well just like Roony would want to shred through the defending line of oppositions.

This was a moment of amusement and surprise for the fans to know that Roony Bardghji is a “weeb”.
A weeb is a non-Japanese person who has developed an enthusiastic (read: concerning) obsession with Japanese culture, particularly anime and manga.
Roony Bardghji is a long time anime enthusiast.
Prior to this celebration, he had already done a celebration resembling the Monkey D Luffy’s iconic Gear 2 pose from the anime “One Piece”.
This was a specific incident when Barcelona played Japanese team Vissel Kobe during a friendly in July 2025 at Tokyo where the celebration was an ode to the Japanese culture.
This is not just it and he has multiple of these in his sleeves during training which are available for view in his Instagram profile.

Mundo Deportivo, a Spanish national daily Sports newspaper that covers stories about Barcelona, pounced on the opportunity and had uploaded the transition video on TikTok via their official account.
