The French National Team are about to bring a new wave of innovation in terms of kit design. Their 2026 world cup away kit designed by Nike, serves refreshing visual appeal as well as a tribute to the host country.
French Football Federation’s partnership with Nike started in 2011 when they decided to have a change in their kit sponsors after 77 year deal with Adidas. A recent extension was also signed in 2024 which ensures the deal is agreed upto 2034. To prove their worth, Nike have come up with an exciting idea that goes beyond footballing culture.
The 2026 World Cup is set to be co-hosted by United States of America, Canada and Mexico. Considering this, the France men’s team away kit for the campaign is set to feature mint green colour and the embroidery’s in copper according to leaked information.
This is a symbolic tribute to the Statue of Liberty in New York, USA where the whole statue is covered in mint green colour and the crown is copper featured. The Swoosh Nike symbol, the FFF’s logo and the jersey number and name are set to be in copper.
The idea behind the design was also motivated by the notion to celebrate the historical ties between France and USA. Their relationship had started so long back, in 1778 with the agreement of “Treaty of Alliance” when France aided the US troops against British army during the American Revolutionary War.
