Gotze and Ozil Over Lahm? Neymar Reveals Odd Top 5 German Players Of All Time

Neymar Jr. is all good spending his time at his boyhood club Santos.

He very recently helped them avoid relegation, despite playing with an injury.

Currently he had extended his contract with the club for one more season.

Neymar has been a long time associate with the Kings League, a seven-a-side football tournament, co-founded by his former teammate and Spanish defender, Gerard Pique.

Infact, Neymar is the president of the team “FURIA” in Brazil’s kings league edition. Recently, he attended the World Cup Nations of the same tournament, that had matches held in Brazil.

During the Brazil vs Peru pre-match preparations, Neymar was asked to name five of the best German footballers according to him. Neymar had a fair thought of everybody and named his list, which includes – Toni Kroos , Thomas Muller, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Mario Gotze and Mesut Ozil.

An interesting association with all these players is, they were all part of the infamous World Cup semi finals between Brazil and Germany, where the Germans ruthlessly beat Brazil by a score line of 7-1, at their own backyard. Unfortunately, Neymar was unable to play that game, ruled out with an injury.

But one has to say that Neymar does not appear to have a good idea of a footballing powerhouse such as Germany.

The Brazilian probably doesn’t follow Germany to understand who really are the indisputable legends of the European nation.

When a question of this context arises, the automatic choices would be Gerd Muller, Philip Lahm, Franz Beckenbauer, Oliver Kahn and at the very least, Michael Ballack, a German footballer contradictorily popular in the Premier League, who had captained Germany at the international stage for a long time.

Even the choice of Thomas Muller, Toni kroos and Schweinsteiger were not questioned, but Neymar choosing Ozil and Gotze over the decorated list of players was never acceptable by any standards for the fans –

Solid choices, especially Kroos and Müller who combine consistency with clutch moments. Surprised Götze made the list over Lahm or Khedira, but that World Cup final goal probably tipped it.
