Everton is one of the Premier League’s finest and most storied clubs. It is the one and only club that holds the honor of being termed the ever presents; The only club in the english top flight to have never been relegated. The last few years have been quite tumultuous for the club as it has seen them be a part of and survive some very close relegation battles
This season has been way more positive for The Toffees, as it currently sees them sit on the 8th position in the league with 12 wins and 7 draws in 30 games. The fans will continue to be hopeful that a few favorable results towards the end of the season could see them qualify for a European competition for the first time since their 2017-18 Europa League Campaign.
It is of course not just these things that make Everton iconic. Like any club it has it’s fair share of sponsors that are fondly looked back upon. Take for example, their sponsorship deal with Thai Beer company Chang, a deal that is still looked upon fondly for the impact that it had not just in terms of being the most lucrative deal in the history of the club, but one that also played a huge role in investing in both domestic and foreign academies. The deal is surely also remembered as a key part of the Barclay’s football era.
Keeping all this in mind, it is only right to talk about Everton signing a sponsorship agreement with Heinz, the American whole foods company with significant British influence most well-known for its wide range of packaged sauces. The sponsorship deal is going to ensure that Heinz sauces will now be available at all establishments within Everton’s newly built Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Heinz becomes the first ever Official Sauce Supplier of Everton Football Club, with their iconic sauces now available across a wide range of concourses, kiosks, premium bars and restaurants within Hill Dickinson Stadium. 🔵
The deal drew a lot of attention from fans and most took the sponsorship in good humor and decided to joke about if whether the ketchup that will be sold will be blue to signify the signature color of the club.
Make tomato sauce blue and I’m in https://t.co/t2gbp3Iz1A

Other fans chose to take the news in a different direction and focused by deriving humor from Heinz being well known in the country for its canned Baked Beans.

The deal also gave fans the chance to stretch their innovation and come up with some interesting wordplay that came from the deal.

Some other fans chose the opportunity to use the number 57, the famous number of different sauces that Heinz offers to poke fun at the deal. Marty G in particular tweeted about the club not having won a trophy since 1995. He said “We best win a trophy before we hit 57 years, or I’m done”
Pretty appropriate given we've had 57 varieties of shit strikers https://t.co/SofiqBQBnV

Another fan Heather Owens pointed out the irony of how the traditionally blue club has now signed on sponsorship deals with two traditionally red brands in Heinz and Budweiser. She pointed out -” Everton need to stop partnering with traditional red brands, first Budweiser, now Heinz. 😂😂”
This is of course not the first time we have seen the footballing and the sauce world, as we saw Bukayo Saka partner with Nando’s to release his own special edition sauce with the famous chicken fast food franchise.
This is a deal that definitely that ketchup goes well with not just your classic fish and chips, but also your favorite club in Liverpool.
